Thanks to Bloody Disgusting we have the following synopses for both Carrie and Evil Dead. First up, the Fede Alvarez directed remake of Sam Raimi's classic gore-fest starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore, which opens in theaters April 13, 2013.

“In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

And here is the synopsis for Carrie, which was directed by Kimberly Peirce for release on March 15, 2013. Chloë Grace Moretz, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, Ansel Elgort and Julianne Moore all star.

“A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.“

@AutoFreek: I agree. She's 1 year younger than the character in the book. They should have hired a 27yr old girl again

@Kamen

Others are reporting that It's close to being a done deal. I could very well see it happening. Carrey's recent weird outcry to youth(the Stone video)& his love of the comic book to me makes me think he'd be right at home on that set.., & would be bizarre and great @the same time. Did you know anyone that saw that penguins film of his? :P
