COMICS: Do We Now Know The Identity Of The SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN?

He has managed to keep his secrets so far, but now writer Dan Slott might have just dropped a major SPOILER on Twitter. Has he revealed the identity of the mysterious Superior Spider-Man? Or is it a red herring? Click for that name one way or the other..

Dan Slott may very well have spoiled the identity of the new Superior Spider-Man when he inadvertently sent a public Tweet to artist Ryan Stegman instead of a private message. Slott had been very careful not to let any of the secrets contained in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #700, leading into The Superior Spider-Man #1 slip thus far, but now the cat would seem to be out of the bag.

And the (probable) identity of the Superior Spider-Man is..

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Highlight this txt to find out - None other than Miguel O'Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099!

As I said, there have been great lengths gone to to keep this secret so if you did highlight the name, please don't go spoiling it for everyone else.

Geez, Josh Wilding sounds like a whiner in nearly every article about something being changed. God forbid a comic company try to mix things up. I feel this is a solid character and this'll be an interesting environment to flesh him out where his normal setting couldn't. We don't really know how this whole Now thing'll work out yet.

DC did and have quite a few winners and a few duds as well but stagnating isn't the answer either.

God, this sucks! MARVEL IS ONLY DOING THIS TO APPEAL TO THEIR IRISH AUDIENCE, THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE A HALF IRISH CHARACTER..

Either way, something tells me that by the time TASM2 comes out, Peter will be back as Spider-Man....in the original red & blue.

if any of you have read spider-man 2099 its great it was one of those stupid gimmicky things from the 90s that shouldnt have been good but was and it was written by peter david who is a great writer. i dunno if dan slott can pull this off though his spider-man run has been poor and i want peter as spidey as much as i do like miguel i would rather see 2099 get relauched this isnt what i want from the main spidey book

Shua - 10/24/2012, 6:21 PM
Lets be honest, Peter won't be gone for long. This is a wonderful way to introduce Miguel to the present. Now he can join Scarlet and Amazing :)

Idk, why he didn't just send a private message. Now the plot is kinda predictable. Peters in the future and O is in the present, like in edge of time. Peter is NOT dead or is gunna go away from this new series. In future issues of superior spiderman were probably gunna see peter in a new costume with O's design.

Shouldn't they introduce O'Hara's SPider-Man when it's, I don't know, when he's old enough to be Spider-Man? Now, I'm not reading the comics so I know nothing - but I thought it'd be cooler to actually let Peter age to his 80's and die to have Miguel O'Hara take on the role.

But that won't even happen in the movies.

gonna be weired not having peter parker in any of the spider-man titles im buying looks like ultimate and scarlet spider are gonna be the only titles ill be buying that are spider-man related and even with scarlet spider that depends on weather yost stays on that book

MOVIELORD101 - 10/24/2012, 6:27 PM
PLEASE don't kill off Peter! That what all this is making it sound like. It was bad enough it happened in the Ultimate universe and replacing him with a lame, uninteresting character like Mile Morales was worse. I like Miguel as a character, but I don't wanna have 616 universe Peter die for him to be a new Spider-hero!

JoshWilding - 10/24/2012, 6:31 PM
Marvel87: I'm not a huge Bendis fan, but I'm definitely picking up All-New X-Men (Cyclops Was Right!!!) and Guardians of the Galaxy. I'll give SOME of the Avengers titles a go - for the first issue at least - but there's also a lot of books that I'll be dropping or just not bothering with!

Thank god Wilding didn't write this article and we had a more neutral writing on this article. He seems to always become negative and feel hatred for whatever Marvel or DC does that changes the status quo, he even says it himself that no matter who was behind the mask, he'd quit.

I actually made a account on this website because every single Marvel NOW article I have seen written by Josh Wilding has been written in a negative view point, now excuse if I'm wrong, but shouldn't a reporter always have a neutral mind on news reports? This is just something I needed to get off my mind as several news reports I see from Josh are always written in a negitave light.

I hate what Marvel is doing to Peter Parker, too. What frustrates me the most is that they refuse to let their character develop naturally. Everytime a writer comes around and tries to develop a character, some numbnuts who calls the shots ends up undoing everything.

I'm beginning to think Marvel hates Parker. They won't let him grow out of his adolescent lifestyle, so it's obvious they would be so apathetic towards him by easily replacing him.

Know this, Marvel. No matter how much you try to shove this new "Spider-Man" down our throats, the only person people care about being under the mask is Peter Parker.

I hope dan slott leaves spider-man and either Jonathan Hickman rick remender or mark waid get the writing duties then spider-man might be great again

I'm serious, if Peter dies at the end of ASM #700, I'm afraid Stan Lee will either be furious at Marvel for it or he'll have a heart attack in shock. All 3 of these I don't want! AT ALL!

I agree 110% with Dragonpiece here.
Wilding always seems to be negative about everything involving Marvel NOW.
He's even started hating "The Amazing Spider-Man" out of nowhere, he changed his rating and started saying negative things about it.
Sorry, but i think Wilding is not a good reporter.

There can be two outcomes on this. Either its a red herring and he just posted that to add more fuel to the rumor fire or that its legit and we have 2099 Miguel O Hara in the modern day. I'm alright with that either way. We have to see how it gets there. Knowing the end of something doesn't ruin the journey.
