It's saltshaker time again, but the UK Express reckon "industry insiders" have told them that Disney plan to resurrect Vader for their new Star Wars trilogy. The site report that despite being very, very dead at the end of Return Of The Jedi, and even appearing to his son Luke Skywalker as a ghost, the ultimate movie villain will indeed be wheezing his way back to the big screen.
According to "a film mole"..
“He’s an integral part of the franchise. Replacing him is virtually impossible. The plan is for him to return and play a significant role in the new films. This is science fiction remember, Darth Vader will rise from the ashes.”
Vader IS the most recognizable, iconic aspect of the
Star Wars saga so I wouldn't have a hard time believing that the studio/film makers would be interested in bringing him back in some capacity, if it wasn't for how he checked out in
Jedi. The above quotes do raise a good point though - what is really out of bounds in sci-fi/fantasy these days? Still, I'm gonna need more solid info before I'm convinced. What do you guys think? Whether this is on the level or not, would you like to see Vader return somehow?
