MISFITS Movie In The Works

MISFITS Movie In The Works

It's not a sure thing yet, but the creator of the bonkers "superhero" tv show, Howard Overman, has revealed on a podcast that he has written a first draft, and if it happens it will involve "past and present characters". Read on for more details..

While chatting to the Panel Borders podcast, Overman revealed that he is working on a movie version of the hugely popular E4 series. “I’ve written the first draft of the script and we’ll see what happens,” Overman said. “If it happens, it will involve past and present characters, I’m not allowed to give away anything more than that.” But he did hint that the film would bring back fan-favorite characters Simon and Alisha (Iwan Rheon and Antonia Thomas) who were killed off (kinda) in the third season of the show. “Whether or not you’ve completely seen the end of Simon and Alisha, if our movie has its way, is another issue,” Overman added. No word on whether foul mouthed immortal Nathan would be back, but something tells me if the movie does get off the ground, actor Robert Sheehan would be getting a phone call.

Wow! I didn't see that coming. I stopped watching this show after Season 2, but if they bring back Nathan, I'll watch the movie.

I still hate the way he was written off. He has a wife and kid to take care of and ends up being thrown in jail. What kind of ending is that for a character?

Yeah, after Series 3 I kind of find Nathan annoying now if I rewatch series 1 and 2. And a lot of people seem to dislike Misfits now but I still enjoy it a lot, the current series is pretty good (although the first episode was a bit disappointing).

It'd be cool to see old characters return for a movie, but

[SPOILER]

3/5 of the main characters are now dead, and the only one they can really bring back is Simon due to the nature (time travel) of his new powers. Unless of course they're brought back as zombies.
Plus, Nathan's current power of 'magic' sucks, it was far more interesting when he was immortal and could see/ speak to ghosts. Having said that, it was the perfect way to write him out of the show, by having his own cocky, bullshitting nature to backfire on him like that.

A movie might be a good way to end the show? I'd like to see it continue for a few more years, but it should end properly and while it's still worth watching, rather than it wasting away like so many other TV shows have (Heroes being a prime example).

Series 3 was garbage. I couldn't [frick]ing care less about Nathan because Rudy is epic, but the rest of series 3 was garbage. Series 4 however, is Awesome! Karla Crome is [frick]ing awesome as Jess, and the new Probation worker is scary as!

Had my doubts about season 4 but it's been pretty good. With shows like Misfits, Fresh Meat and Beaver Falls its no wonder Brit telly is better than US TV. Hey, Hollywood, try an original idea sometime!
