Hugh Jackman will receive his star from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, December 13, 2012. The unveiling will take place at 6931 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Madame Tussauds Hollywood, where his wax figure depicting him as Wolverine is on display.
"Fans from around the world have been consistently asking when his star will be dedicated," said Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez.
"We are happy to say that now is the time! Hugh is on the world's most popular actors and we are exciting that he is joining our Walk of Fame family."
Jackman made his US big screen debut in Bryan Singer's first
X-Men as mutant berserker Wolverine, and has gone on to play the character a further 4 times - if you count his very brief cameo in
X-Men: First Class that is - and he may just notch that total up to 7 when he appears in James Mangold's
The Wolverine, and then possibly back with Singer again on
X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Things aren't actually 100% on that, as Jackman has stated that he hasn't officially signed on, nor has he read the script yet.
You can hear Jackman lend his voice to The Easter Bunny in
Rise Of The Guardians in theaters now, and catch him in
Les Miserables on Christmas Day.
