UPDATE: COMICS: Beast's New Look Revealed In ALL-NEW X-MEN

We have already seen a panel from All-New X-Men #6 which gave us a distant glimpse of a very different looking Beast, but now we have another scan from issue #5 which gives us a proper look at the brand new, more simian looking, Hank McCoy.

UPDATE: Thanks to MTV Geek we have more hi-quality images, as well as some concept art..





As you can see, he actually doesn't look quite as different as that other glimpse suggested. Definitely more ape-like than cat-like, but then that is a bit more in keeping with the original look of the character anyway. What do you guys think? hm.. reminds me of the classic but with a "shaven" head..
Still better than the cat-like, but yet i don't really like.. Probably it's just those shadows on his face..

I liked cat beast but too many artist variations. He ranged from the cowardly lion to a kitty. Also a giant cat really didn't deserve the name beast when there were plenty of cat people walking around.

It's not bad, and I do like it, but I hate his size. He looks on par with the Hulk in musculature. Which is not supposed to be the case. Beast is strong, but he's also supposed to be agile. This look doesn't convey that.

Everyone says they prefer the 90s look but I didn't think he looked beastly enough. I mean he was basically a bulkier Nightcrawler with a Wolverine haircut. So I was glad when they made him more Cat-like..kinda like The Beast from Beauty and The Beast. But they went a bit overboard with it over the years admittedly. Thsi looks...ok. Gonna have to see more images before making my mind up.

The cat look always looked lame too me, one of the many reasons I stopped buying any X-Men comics (yes, seriously). I really wish they would just let him go back to his human form (lesson learned), and keep him that way. This new look is way better though.

I always liked the cat look. Totally unpractical for a scientist to have paws but I liked it. This makes more sense. Before the blue fur Hank was just an ape-ish mutant.

I thought the Cat look was really kinda cool and unexpected. This is kinda dull. Maybe they shoulda gone dog...in fact...they should have gone wiener dog!

I actually prefer this look over the other 2 mutations. The original Hank McCoy just had large hands/feet and a bulky build, then he mutated multiple times over the decades until this recent change. He's now known just as much for his mutations as he is his iconic and ironic combination of physical attributes and intellect. I like it.

And, as I wrote this I realized that this is in some ways exactly what Marvel is trying to do with Superior Spider-Man. I still hate the idea of SSM, but I just talked myself into reading it. If I didn't I'd be hypocritical!
