THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens November 22, 2013.

I was actually forced into reading The Hunger Games (long story...) and I found it wasn't nearly as dreadful as I'd expected it would be, so naturally I wanted to see the movie so I could see how closely my visualizations of the characters had come. I never realized how fuggin HOTT Jennifer Lawrence could be! Yowza! She wasn't nearly that hot in XMFC, right? She seemed like a pudgy little girl then. I'm glad to see she's grown into hers. Let's hope she's a true friend of the penis and keeps it rockin' for us.

Jennifer Lawrence is amazing.
She can literally play any role. She can be action heroine, she can be scared girl next door and even do drama very well. She's incredible and beautiful.

I was actually opposed to watching these until my wife, who has read all the books, talked me into it. I haven't read the books but the movie wasn't awful. Much better than I expected but after seeing some of the darker pitches made by other directors I can't help but feel like they missed an opportunity to really do it "correctly".

Looks good.

Hunger Games = A New Hope
Catching Fire = Empire Strikes Back
Mockingjay = REVENGE of the Jedi

Those who expect the next movie to be anything like Battle Royale are simply ignorant, and should read up on wiki at least.

This second movie isn't Battle Royale. It has adults in it, not just kids.
