We have already seen this pic with text all over it, but now it has been released in crisp high quality for any of you wallpaper fans out there. See a bare-chested Logan with his claws out (do we ever see him any other way?) after the jump..

Based on a screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) and Mark Bomback (Live Free or Die Hard, Total Recall )and the comic book by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont.

Hope we get some kind of attempt at a costume, being in Japan it would make perfect sense to introduce it!

Agreed, they can make it out as some sort of samurai armor he dons for his final battle with Silver Samurai but have it resemble his comic book costume.

All these images, WHEN do we get a trailer FOX?! Maybe they'll do a superbowl trailer and then show an actual trailer just days after that.

LEVITIKUZ @ This is what FOX should have done in the first place dude and yes your right, hopefully its Wolverines Batman Begins, I mean how can they go wrong with Japan and Ninjas etc?

This is what that horrible movie Origins should of been.

Looks pretty pumped, yeah The Wolverine gonna be good, can't say the same with the sequel to First Class argh.

First Class was bad? Wow. You have some pretty high standards if that one was "pretty bad."

LEEE777 - 1/14/2013, 7:24 AM
ISeeStupidPeople @ First Class might not have been a bad movie, in fact the script etc was good, but it was a bad cbm, total disregard for the history of the X-Men characters and what made them so good in the first place. Don't have to be page by page or nothing, but the basics would be nice like the real First Class, Beast was good tho :p

Having X-Men characters all out of time was wack and couldn't enjoy it... still, lookin' forward to THE WOLVERINE!

Please be good.

About First Class, it was good because of Fassbender's Magneto. Without him the movie crumbles.

How was First Class bad? First Class is only bad to people who either are either(a)serious movie purists who will only watch arthouse movies, or (b) people who are so hung up on comics that they can't accept any changes when it comes to the movie version. Now I'm not saying it's like the best CBM ever, far from it in fact, but it's a solid movie and it's probably in the top 50% of CBMs, and Matthew Vaughn was a good choice to direct it as he handled the film more maturely. Of course, the performances by Fassbender and McAvoy are largely responsible for elevating the movie to it's current level, but it's still one of the better CBMs, and certainly the best X-Men movie so far. Good movie, poor adaptation. The only thing I didn't really like was how Xavier and Mystique were like siblings one minute then suddenly they barely spoke to each other.

Not too sure how I feel about the sequel though - afraid that with Singer AND Jackman returning it'll become 'Wolverine and Friends' once again, rather than a movie about the team or at least Prof X and Magneto.

I'm very excited for The Wolverine, hopefully this is directed by Mangold in the same vein as 3:10 To Yuma, rather than Knight and Day. Only thing is, it's kind of getting overshadowed by everything else since they aren't doing a good job of advertising it. Man Of Steel, Iron Man 3, Star Trek Into Darkness, The Hobbit 2... lot's of other stuff this year, Wolverine's going to need all the advertising he can get.

Love Wolverine and will be probably be there to see it opening night BUT you aren't selling me on this movie without the Wolverine costume. Only reason why cmb's hesitate on a masked superhero is b/c of highly paid actors and face time on screen. If they were really dedicated to the role, SUIT HIM UP!!! PERIOD, POINT, BLANK!!!

First Class sucked because of all the continuity errors and weird time paradox errors, it was the most mistake prone movie of 2011, and it had fkn Bryan Singer involved who did X1 and 2, so that is why it fails, take those away and it was shot, directed, and acted okay. Cant get past that other stuff, no one should give it a pass, Wolverine looks....well we need a trailer

Sigh...I've pretty much given up on the X-Men movie franchise. Sure Wolverine fighting ninjas in Japan sounds great, but I'm not holding my breath or going to the theater for this one, too many burns from Fox and their inability to make a good Wolverine (or X-Men)

Stop bloody slating X-men first class. I couldn't care less about the "time paradox error" (talking to you bark4soul) Over all it was a good movie and I enjoyed it. Days of future past will kick ass!

First Class sucked because of all the continuity errors and weird time paradox errors

let me correct that for you

comicbooks sucked because of all the continuity errors and weird time paradox errors

lmbo, comicbooks do the same shit - retcons/timeparadox (i am looking at you marvel NOW) everyday but a movie does it and the pitchforks come out. hahahahaaha

Going a little bit offtopic, but i have to disagree with @monkeyballs3 regarding First Class' score. I thought it was great, and although not extremely original, it was memorable enough (First Class and Magneto specially). Worst score I've heard in a cbm is without a doubt TASM's. Shitty trumpets trying to sound heroic do not make a good score. It should've been way more dinamic, I mean, it's Spider-Man. And if any one of you is able to remember even a part of the score of a MCU movie, you have my admiration. TASM's score was terrible, but at least it wasn't dull and practically non-existent.

I won't say much about the other points. I've already said a lot about First Class. It was a good movie, but a poor adaptation. I'll take that over a bad movie-good adaptation any day.
fullmetal
fullmetal - 1/14/2013, 10:35 AM
I will be the one to tell you why "First Class" is the worst comic book movie of all time, next to "Batman and Robin"

I can't believe so many people regard it as one of the best comic book films ever. People who have blu ray disc that are not working should be thankful. Here is a film that is suppose to tell the origin of the whole x-men IDEOLOGY, the struggle between magneto and Xavier, the struggle between violence versus non violence, and they completely fail at conveying any true depth in the emotional aspects of the storytelling. The movie completely sleep walks through the emotional aspects with no exploration of the psychological dynamics behind those emotions. A perfect example is when Mystique crosses over to Magneto's side. This was such a pathetic scene, done just for the sake of betrayal, but what was the emotional motivation behind that betrayal? Because Magneto puckered lips with her? Because he told her she looked better blue? That's why she betrays Xavier? YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!! Mystique is suppose to be a mentally unstable shape shifter with an identity crisis, like in the comic! What is this Xavier's sister crap? She's just an insecure weakling who wants to fit in! Whoever thought it was a good idea to make Mystique Xavier's sister should be shot.

Moving on, this film totally misses the ball when it comes to Xavier. Who is this guy? He's just some Richie Rich womanizer who lives it up and for no reason is non violent. There's no reason at all!!! I can't believe they didn't explore the psychological dynamics for why Xavier has chosen a life of non-violence! That's where the story is suppose to be! They left out his whole story! The struggles with his brother, Cain Marko. Cain abused Xavier and there are a lot of psychological constructs that are formed in Xavier due to these events with Cain. Also Xavier's experience as a medic in the Korean War(?) and the whole ordeal with Moira; all this was cut out for nonsense or just to focus on Magneto. This story is almost as bad as X3. How can you not focus on Xavier!! And you "X-men fans" like this film?!

Then there's the stupidest scene in the history of comic book films; the scene when the team first sees Hank as Beast and Mystique says "This is who you were meant to be." It's enough to make me barf. i like to rewind and put that scene on repeat just so I can laugh hilariously!! You people really think that line in screenplay is logical? This guy experimented on himself!!!! How in God's name is that suppose to be "who he's meant to be" if it was attained unnaturally?! What a joke!
That line right there, completely reveals the ignorance of the writers and film makers on their understanding of the X-men ideology.

Don't even get me started on the feet! Why it was so hard to get this guy a body cast to make him look big? We'll never know!

And what the hell is with Havoc's hoola hoops? This guy is suppose to raise hell when he bursts, not this corny crap!

This movie is so stupid. One moment you got Xavier talking about how mutation is an evolutionary process, referring to the Neanderthal and genetics, then the next moment you got the dumb ass villain talking about how radiation gave birth to mutants. What?! It's like an 8th grader wrote this film.

The villain's plot is ridiculous. He want's to start nuclear war because the radiation will cause mutation. He even goes as far as literally saying, "radiation gave birth to mutants." This is complete crap. If you read the comics or have seen any of Bryan Singer's films, you will know that mutation was all about EVOLUTION!!!! This is X-Men, not the Incredible Hulk! Can mutation be a result of radiation? Yes. But the type of mutation that creates the mutants in X-Men is due to evolution; a slow process. Just listen to Xavier's opening statement in X1. And Bryan Singer supposedly wrote this? Moron can't even remember the continuity/content of his own films! I lost all respect for him now and it's evident "the Usual Suspects" and X1 was just luck. X2 was good but what he did to Rogue's character was not right and was just a hint of his stupidity ...don't eve get me started on Superman Returns.

Another horrible thing about this film is the directing. i miss Singer's direction. It was very sophisticated and i feel like he took the material seriously. here, it goes back and forth from being serious to being wacky and lame..lamer than spiderman 3 dancing on the bar lame. The lamest thing was when Angel shows magneto and X her wings. It's suppose to be a secret... BUT SHE SHOWS THEM IN A ROOM FULL OF WINDOWS WITH A WHOLE STRIP CLUB IN THE BACK!!! No thought went into this at all!! This loses all credibility for the realism. Get with the program Vaugn!!!

Here are two more continuity/illogical errors: Xavier says before the team puts on the yellow suits that they were bulletproof, then what happens? HE GETS SHOT IN THE BACK!!!! Then at the end of the movie the CIA, i repeat again, THE CIA can't find xavier simply because he mind wiped Moira. THIS IS SO STUPID!! XAVIER IS A FILTHY RICH FAT CAT WHO OPENLY USED HIS NAME WHEN HE WAS WITH THE CIA..HIS FAMILY IS RICH, I'M PRETTY SURE PEOPLE IN THEIR COMMUNITY KNOW WHO THE XAVIER'S ARE, YET THE CIA CAN'T FIND THEM!!!These guys can kill kennedy but can't find a rich bastard named charles xavier!! ha ha ha!! this movie is so pathetic it's hilarious and what's even funnier is how people close their eyes to these errors.

Another problem is when Emma Frost uses her diamond form to cut a whole in the screening room for the CIA and tells them some idiotic crap about war. Look, IF SHE CAN CONTROL PEOPLE'S MINDS, WHY IN THE HELL DIDN'T SHE DO IT, RIGHT THERE?!!! It makes no sense!! This film is far from brilliant.

Then there's the continuity errors, which are a disgrace to storytelling. People who say that this film is only in continuity with Singer's films are full of crap. Xavier says in X1, "When I was 17, I met a man named Erick Leinsherr." Wrong! Then the whole story from X-men 1 about Magneto helping Xavier to build cerebro is crap because in fact it was Hank who built it with the CIA!!! Another continuity error! And the whole dialogue from X-men 1 about how Magneto's helmet is able to block X's telepathy because Magneto helped him built it is another continuity error because Magneto got the helmet from Shaw!! Then you got people saying this is a reboot. Oh, Really? Is that why Hugh Jackman was in the thing? Is that why the original first class weren't in it? Is that why they decided to copy the opening scene from the original film? If this is a reboot, then the producers, along with Singer are degenerate morons who should be lynched because they excluded the classic first class just to put in "mutants we haven't seen," which is completely stupid because it disrespects the source material. At least if this was a prequel it gives them an excuse not to put the original first class in it because of their twisted chronology.

People only like this film because of the violence and because of Magneto. Granted. Magneto was great but so what. The movie is called X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, not Magneto. This is an epic failure in storytelling, so epic you could teach a college course on it.

Enough is enough. The X-Men film franchise is officially dead to me. Thank God!

@InfiniteMonkey Jackman had a pretty insane six pack in the promo pic and he said it was real. Dunno what is going on with this pic.

@KnightofSteel That's absurd. Where did you hear that? Its much likelier that they photoshop a six pack on someone rather than off someone.

nice public tantrum, fullmetal. did you want to read the comic books over again? or did you want to see a movie? cause that's what it is. next time you want story time, you can get your mom to read you the graphic novels and show you the pictures. leave it alone, you opinion is just that, opinion, you can have it all you want, but don't force it on others. also, don't make life threats against people doing their jobs just because you think you can do it better (cause, honestly, with your temper, you probably can't).

@infinitemonkey and kingleo...he's breathing out and the camera caught a pic of it. His promo pic shows his abs in fill flex which are amazing. He's ripped, this is just a bad pic. Look at the veins on his waistline, bottom of the stomach. You don't get those if ur fat. You actually need to achieve single digit body fat percentage to get that. I'm shocked the studio chose to release this. Must be a still from an action sequence rather then jack an actually pausing to take a photo.
