See Michael Shannon Display His Villainous Skills In New Trailer For THE ICEMAN

Not a CBM, in fact it's a crime thriller! But it stars our future General Zod as the ice-cold killer of the title, and also Captain America himself, Chris Evans, as his partner. Check out a second, slightly spoilerific trailer after the jump..

Here is the second trailer for Ariel Vroman's The Iceman, the true story of mob hitman Richard "The Ice Man" Kuklinski, who is said to have murdered at least 100 people before he was 18 years old. Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, David Schwimmer, James Franco, and Winona Ryder co-star.

So, based on that I think we can look forward to Shannon bringing plenty of menace to Man Of Steel when he takes on Superman as General Zod. This movie looks pretty good too. Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

I guess we are going to have a lot more movies qualify for main now, if you are going to cover every film that has actors in it who were in CBMs. Kind of sad when relevant articles get moved off of main, even though they were voted and approved through the system/users and now irrelevant films are justified by the actors in them.

I guess we can now write articles on Don Jon's Addiction that has comic book movie actors, Scarlett Johannson and JGL? Rush with Chris Hemsworth and Olivia Wilde? Out of the Furnace with Christian Bale and William DaFoe...the list can on. But watch, if a user were to write an article on a film like that, it would get pulled.

Looks awesome!
Glad you brought this to our attention, Ror... really shows how badass Michael Shannon can really be...
Seeing this get's me really excited for Zod in Man of Steel!
Thanks!

Michael Shannon is the least of my worries in Man of Steel.

@ InfiniteMonkey - I think that's why he took on a job like Superman, a bad/boring Superman movie without 3D/IMAX still made $400 Million. Imagine how well a good, if not great, Superman movie could make with Zack Snyder at the helm.

Zod made Terrence Stamp a household name, Shannon is probably going to enjoy the same from the same character.

I think that's why he accepted the role, if he does a great job at Zod he could be the hottest thing in Hollywood. Kind of like how Heath Ledger, had he not died, would've been Hollywood's most sought-after actors in the world or how RDJ's career became revived with Iron Man or Nolan's directorship became more considered legendary after The Dark Knight.

shannon is already [frick]ing creepy in boardwalk empire, not worried at all.

who the [frick] cares if it's not a cbm, can't your puny brains connect the dots when the article's title is "See Michael Shannon Display His Villainous Skills In New Trailer For THE ICEMAN" ugh, fanboys would bitch about everything, just like i am doing now... straight up bitching.

Nah I'm gonna be reporting them from now on. As editors we answer to one man - the owner of the site. I've been doing thsi long enough not to have to put up with people questioning me about articles..if you don't like it, lump it!

Take Shelter's one of the best films I've ever seen, so of course I'll be seeing him in this movie too. Michael Shannon's probably the best actor in Hollywood right now, everything he does is so convincing and you can tell he gives it his all in every role he's in. In fact, he even made Revolutionary Road become a good movie with his great performance (as the movie itself was pretty middle-of-the-road without him).

Hey, if it is a new qualification for articles to make the site and main, I have no challenge with it. If you prevent users from putting up similar articles, which has been done before, it's called a double standard. Perhaps you aren't familiar with that term.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 1/16/2013, 8:24 AM
It hasn't been done before, no article has ever been taken off/or prevented from making main without good reason..and it doesn't matter whether YOU think it's a good reason, it only matter that WE do.

We won't be covering (at least I won't) thsi movie extensively, it's just ONE trailer so we can get an idea of how he plays the villain. I swear to God you look for things to complain about on here.

The guy's called Iceman. Same as the guy from X-Men. There's the comicbook qualification to be on this website lol.

I remember watching his interviews on HBO when I was a kid. The stuff he said he did while having a straight face as he's telling it is chilling. Gave the ten year old me (or however old I was lol) nightmares. It's on YouTube if any of you want to check it out.

Yeah I remember im saying he left some dude tied up and let rats naw at his face for days before he died. He is one sick puppy, should be a good film.

Shannon should play Agent 47 in another Hitman movie (reboot, obviously). When he's talking to Franco's character especially, with that suit he's wearing too, he looks EXACTLY like the Agent 47 that I know from the games (minus the bald head though).
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 1/16/2013, 8:37 AM
This site is supposed to be about empowering the users and members to post articles. The only time I complain is when I see a double standard taking place and it typically comes from you. There were a few times last fall where articles were removed from main that were voted by the users to be on main, which is part of the approval system set up here and you pulled them for reasons which would justify some of your own articles to be taken down from main. That is called a double standard. The elite editor gets to make his own rules. That, I will complain about. Report me if you want.

NOT A CBM!!!
ComicBookMovie
ComicBookMovie - 1/16/2013, 9:33 AM
Guys,
Here are the rules. And MY word is law.

1. Articles on the main must be about comic book movies OR have some relevance to comic book movies that our users would find interesting. I LEAVE THAT TO THE EDITORS TO DECIDE.

2. Are there some exceptions for slow news days, etc? YES. I LEAVE THAT TO THE EDITORS TO DECIDE. THAT IS WHAT BEING AN EDITOR IS ALL ABOUT.

3. Are there some cases where the editors (or users who vote something on the main) make the wrong the decision? YES. AND AS THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF I ALONE MAKE THAT CALL. I AM THE FINAL SAY ON EVERYTHING. IT IS MY SITE. SO HARASSING THE EDITORS IS SILLY. DON'T CONFUSE ONE OF MY HELPERS AS HAVING THE SAME POWER THAT I DO.

4. Is there a double-standard? HELL YES! When I give someone privileges to be an editor of the site, they are acting on my behalf. They EARNED greater trust and YES, PREFERENCE on the site. DUH! But before you cry "INJUSTICE," realize that ANYONE can earn these same privileges who wants them. I am ALWAYS on the lookout for users that want to HELP the site, and who I can trust with greater responsibility.

5. Have editors been booted for abusing their power. YES! Ask around, some are still here. Editors are just elevated users LIKE YOU. They are not perfect.

6. Do some users on this site get booted for being too whiny about this internal stuff? YES THEY DO. ESPECIALLY THE ONES WHO TROLL EDITORS. If you have a problem, bring it to me (see below).

Here endeth the lesson.

Love, Galactus

P.S., And if anyone has legitimate complaints, send me an email: Galactus(at)ComicBookMovie.com. I am NOT appreciative when comments sections get clogged up with this complaining crapola. If I see too much of it--especially from the same people, they will lose their accounts.

P.P.S., Every Sunday night I have instituted a "meet the management" chat in our chatroom for these kinds of complaints and questions about how we do things around here. Hopefully, that will get rid of some of this in the comments sections. Check the calendar to see dates and times.

Ranger, nah, a good 90% of your posts that I see are moans and complaints. And you're also wrong about the so called "abuse" of power. You don't think the thumbs up system can also be abused? We had countless articles appearing on main that the author had asked for the thumbs up on, which we would then remove - as I said, for good reason (either badly written, sloppy, irrelevant etc), but if the article was salvageable with some work we'd mail the user and explain what they needed to change to get it back on main. So by all means keep complaining..but I know, most other people know, and I think deep down you know that you're complaining about nothing.

People really do complain too much on here, I have been saying that for months now. Can't just be grateful of all the mazing movies we keep getting but it really is just the same old people that complain.
