"Fox has always been pretty cool about letting us push the envelope," Abrams tells TVline.com. “When we made the move and [executive producers] Joe [Chappelle] and Jeff [Pinker] started pitching stuff, we thought, ‘Well, this will probably get a little pushback,’” Abrams shares. “But they [at Fox] were like, ‘OK, sounds good!’” While not revealing any spoilers, he did add that there will be "some visual things that if I had done in a film, the PG-13 rating would have been taken away from us."
Meanwhile, Fox Entertainment President, speaking to critics and worried fans, said at the TCA press tour, "I beg you not to write the eulogy prematurely. It’s a show we’re very passionate about. I want the audience to transfer to Friday. I would be heartbroken if it went away. But if the fans stick with us the show could be on the air for many years. The creative team should feel really liberated about the new time slot. I think now they can say, 'You know what? We are playing to our fans -- [but are] happy to take anyone new that wants to get on board."
