Offers the press release: "In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, an elite, powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. Warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him the ability to create anything his mind can imagine. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan (Reynolds). Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal’s humanity is one weapon no member of the Corps has ever had, and if – with willpower, determination and the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Lively) – Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax... he will save the Earth and all of mankind from certain destruction.

"Green Lantern" will be available on Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, featuring a 3D hi-definition, a hi-definition, a standard definition and a digital copy of the theatrical film, for $40.99, Blu-ray Combo Pack, featuring a hi-definition, a standard definition and a digital copy of the theatrical film, for $35.99 and on single disc DVD for $28.98. I'm willing to give this a shot. See if it really was the studio's fault.

Since, to me, it's main problem was the story telling, a extended cut might be interesting, but it would need to be about an hour longer to fix all the problems.

Nope I'm not buying this shit. Rather keep my money for movies that deserve it like Thor and Captain America.

it maybe alright just like how daredevil directors cut was an improvment over daredevil.it definetly needs more scenes in space & more of sinestro.

im happy to hear this ! i honestly got the feeling that half of the movie ended up on the cutting room floor...probably bc they mismanaged the CGI production. thats why Hector Hammond and Earth had so much screen time... this will probably be DC's Daredevil.

And the extended cut is how many minutes extra?...

Hmmm, I'll probably leave this till it is £4.99 bargain-bucket price just to be safe. I feel a little bit perplexed about all this as I was looking forward to GL, Casino Royale was a sublime film and I don't know if enough minutes added to an extended cut of GL would improve it, or whether it'll be truely a case of "You can't polish a turd™".
BillyBatson1000
BillyBatson1000 - 8/23/2011, 1:09 PM
Could see this happening - all of the director's previous films were too long - when GL was previewed this would have been the same - so it was hacked up to fit a shorter running time - irrespective of the damage that would do to the actual flow of the movie/logic etc. But everyone paying for this Bluray cut is basically bailing out the studio for the profit loss at theaters. If a 'longer cut' of Conan was released would the same people be buying that? Nope? It won't stop them trying.

tbh the theatrical cut left this movie in tatters much like the theactrical cut of daredevil lets hope the extended cut is also much like daredevils and bring it somewhat back to life, because as of this moment Green latern is worse than the first 2 x-men movies combined.
CapFan79
CapFan79 - 8/23/2011, 1:13 PM
There's no indication of time. It could just be like 2-3 minutes. Not all director's extended cuts are that much longer. If it's like LOTR though, then perhaps it could be better. I'm guessing it's just more scenes of Carol and Hal talking rather than Oa or anything substantive.

tbh i'm gonna have to agree somewhat but i like flashfacts also think that this is DC's screw up like Marvel's (although i still blame fox) for Daredevil
