It's Official! Scarlett Johansson is Black Widow in Iron Man 2

E! Online confirmed the news we posted earlier about Scarlett getting the role.

It seems Scarlett will officially be playing the scarlett-haired (yes, I did that on purpose) Russian spy in the sequel, as E! confirmed.

Will she be competing with Gwyneth for Robert Downey's affections? What a lucky guy!

Personally, I like the idea of Emily Blunt better in the role. While I like Scarlett, she just doesn't sit right as the Black Widow with me. But that's just my opinion.

I find this kind of amusing, actually, since now, technically, the Black Widow is married to Deadpool.

Let be honest, when this film roles around, none of us are gonna be concentrating on her accent or athletic ability, she has far more fascinating credentials. This movie is gonna be SWEEEEEEEET!

yes, if john had anything to do with casting, then this will most likely be for the better. i think we can trust the new marvel movies when they are in his hands, i would like to see reed richards in the avengers. i know his part on the team was small, but i want marvel to get the rights for all their movies back, re-do a fantastic four (only one and not an origin movie!!!!!) and get more famous heroes on the avengers! oh and re-cast all the old roles except hugh jackman as wolvie and patrick sewart as prof. x. those guys i want them to keep. oh and dont re-cast the new roles they've already filled for hulk and iron man. CAN ANYBODY SAY MAHOR MARVEL UNIVERSE CRAZY SHOWDOWN OF SUPERHEROES IN A TON OF REBOOTS OF MOVIES THAT WER MADE IN A CRAPPY WAY IN THE PAST?!!!!!!!!

I have to say "No!" to the reboots idea. Here is why. When a new writer joins a title, does he/she just scrap all the history created, say it never happened, and start from scratch? Or does he/she knuckle up and work with what they're given? The worst thing about reboot's are that we just get to see the same story again, only rehashed. I for one am sick of Magneto being the villain in X-Men movies, but reboot the franchise and I guarantee it'll be the first thing we get. What about another Dr.Doom/FF? That's what a reboot will give us. However, recasting a movie, like The Incredible Hulk was done, is acceptable.

well, she is pretty.... maybe it'll work out alright. Maybe she will be a good Black Widow. She doesnt strike me as her but... C'est La Vie. I hope the 2nd movie will be as good as the 1st one.

while I agree she's far from the best choice, it's hard (right now) to get upset about her being cast in the role ... because of her looks.

Anybody notice that Supermike hasn't shown up to nay say about how hot Scarlet is. Anyway, I think she might be okay. She's super hot, but she was ridiculous looking in the Spirit. I personally enjoyed her in the Prestige.
