Update: HAWKMAN and HAWKGIRL'S origin will be explored on “THE FLASH” and “ARROW”

Earlier this week I posted an Article about Hawkman featuring in Legends of Tomorrow”. Well now there’s news that he and Hawkgirl will be appearing on the small screen before that.

Before CW’s new series “Legends of Tomorrow” premieres in the spring, fans of “The Flash” and “Arrow” are going to get to know two of the shows new heroes, Hawkgirl and Hawkman.

We are well acquainted with the other major players in “Legends of Tomorrow,” but Hawkgirl remains a bit of a mystery. While Kendra Saunders played by actress Ciara Renee has been introduced in the Season 1 finale of “The Flash.” She only had a non-speaking cameo, and this was as Kendra not as Hawkgirl. Now the actress has confirmed to Zap2it that her character’s story will be told during Season 2 of “The Flash.”

“I know I’ll definitely be on ‘Flash,'” What Renee doesn’t know is how her character will be portrayed, but she has some definite ideas. “I know she gets reincarnated, so hopefully we kind of get to see some of her past lives,” she says. “I think that would be interesting.”

According to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, fans will get to see quite a bit of Hawkgirl on “The Flash.”

“One of the reasons why we’re doing the show as a midseason is there’s a lot of, what I call, table-setting to be done with ‘Arrow’ and ‘Flash,'” he says. “Kendra Saunders, who becomes Hawkgirl, is going to have plenty of those moments leading up to the launch of ‘Legends.'”

In a Separate story Den of Geeks is reporting a bit more information about Hawkgirl’s partner. It now appears that we will definitely see Hawkman before “Legends of Tomorrow” premieres as well.

Showrunner Phil Klemmer spoke to a group of reporters at SDCC 2015 (including Den of Geek), and he was asked about whether we'd visit specific pasts and futures of the DC Universe. Klemmer said that they'd mostly be "confined to the post-war to very near future...but we will be seeing some Ancient Egypt in the Arrow crossover and get into the origin story of Kendra and Carter and the intersection with Vandal Savage's acquiring of immortality."

Yes he said Carter. The Carter he is referring to is Carter Hall, the original Hawkman.  Part of the appeal of these two characters is their timeless romance. The two heroes are reincarnated throughout time, and always manage to find each other. With both Carter and Kendra  in play a spinoff could still be in the works.  Time will tell. Still no word on who’s been cast as Hawkman.  But with both The Flash and Arrow filming it could be soon.

That's cool. Hawkman and Hawkgirl are criminally underused characters. If there was ever going to be romance heavy CBM, it should be them.

Man, Arrow sounds like it's going all out with Magic. Bring it

Makes sense. Considering she appears in the season finale of the Flash and it looked like she was baout to fly up and help Barry save people.

So for the CW magic characters, we have Vixen, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, The League of Assassins, and possibly more with Constantine and several characters from that show, Grundy, Blood, etc.

Arrow really stepped up it's game

Kendra and Carter's story is perfect for CW's audience. It has all the elements of a supernatural romance. Very CW lol.

With John Constantine possibly joining Arrow, hopefully this allows for Dr. Fate to join the show too.

@TheOverlord
I was thinking the same thing. The fact that they get reincarnated gives them an opportunity to portray the same characters in different time periods.

It's kinda obvious that it's a good thinking they startup in midseason... Sara Lance need to come back from the Lazarus pit before to make sense..

I hope they gonna nailed it for Hawkman.. it has potential but i'm sure they'll make it awesome! Hope Constantine will make a cameo..that would help to introduce Zatanna at the same time!

I still dont get why they went with Kendra and Carter. It makes more sense to go with Shiera and Carter, but hey, thats me
