Spider-man (2000 video game):

Plot:

While attending a scientific demonstration hosted by the supposedly reformed Doctor Otto Octavius, Peter Parker (Spider-Man) witnesses the appearance of a Spider-Man impostor, who steals Doctor Octavius's experiment. Eddie Brock mistakes this for the real Spider-Man and tries to take pictures, but his camera is shattered by the Spider-Man impostor. Due to his failure, Brock grows angry and is worried that J. Jonah Jameson will fire him from his new job at the Daily Bugle; all of his rage causes the Venom symbiote to surface, and then swears revenge. Everyone present at the demonstration believes that Spider-Man took the experiment, causing the police to begin a manhunt for Spider-Man. Meanwhile, two mysterious people unleash a fog upon the streets of New York.
Spider-Man is told by Black Cat that the Jade Syndicate is robbing a bank and have taken hostages. After foiling the bank robbery, Spider-Man fights Scorpion in order to keep him from killing J. Jonah Jameson. After defeating Scorpion, Spider-Man is forced to flee from the police. Spider-Man encounters Daredevil who questions Spider-Man but is eventually convinced of his innocence, then states that he will spread the word about Spider-Man's innocence. Immediately after Daredevil leaves, Spider-Man is ambushed by a police chopper and is chased across the city. Upon ditching the helicopter, Spider-Man reunites with Black Cat, who alerts him to two new problems: Rhino is attacking a power plant and Venom has kidnapped Mary Jane Watson in order to lure Spider-Man. Spider-Man defeats Rhino at the power plant, but Black Cat is injured and kidnapped by unknown parties posing as paramedics.
Spider-Man discusses his recent situation with Human Torch, who assures him that things will get better and he will eventually succeed in getting everything right. Spider-Man is unable to locate Venom until the villain, newly obsessed with Spider-Man following the impostor's appearance, appears and leads Spider-Man on an elaborate chase through the sewers and in one portion, the subways which are filled with deadly traps. The player ends up meeting The Lizard who explains that Venom locked him down there and took control of the other lizard men. Lizard finally gives directions to Venom's hideout. After finally defeating Venom and rescuing Mary Jane, Spider-Man convinces Brock that someone has framed him. They reluctantly agree to work together to find the party responsible, starting with a visit to the Daily Bugle to search for information.
At the Bugle, Venom senses the presence of Carnage, his symbiote offspring, causing him to abandon Spider-Man, who deals with an infestation of symbiotes throughout the building. He finally locates the identity of the Spider-Man impostor: Mysterio. After being defeated by Spider-Man, Mysterio reveals that his bosses plan to infest New York with symbiotes, and that the fog that blankets the city acts as a beacon for the symbiotes that will prepare the citizens for symbiosis.
Mysterio's information leads Spider-Man to a warehouse that hides an enormous underground base in which the symbiotes that are cloned from Carnage's symbiote are being manufactured. Spider-Man learns that Mysterio was right when he runs into the Punisher at Warehouse 65. Spider-Man finds a path leading into an undersea base. After rescuing Black Cat, Spider-Man discovers the masterminds behind the plan: Carnage and Doctor Octopus/Doc Ock (Otto Octavius). After Carnage knocks out Venom, Spider-Man defeats both villains, but the Carnage symbiote fuses with Doctor Octopus to produce an enormous, out-of-control monster, called "Monster Ock". Monster Ock accidentally destroys the base, and Spider-Man barely escapes to the surface, where he is rescued by Captain America who was called by Black Cat and Venom.
Spider-Man is then shown playing cards with Captain America, Daredevil, and Punisher while Black Cat and Human Torch are dancing. Meanwhile in jail, Mysterio, Rhino, Scorpion, and a Jade Syndicate Thug are shown playing cards as Doctor Octopus is banging his head on the cell bars. Scorpion openly mocks them for having "All worked together but, you still couldn't beat spider-man":

Spider-man :Enter Electro:

Plot:

After a brief lesson from Beast, Spider-Man interrupts a robbery at BioTech, planting a tracer on the leader's bike. The tracer leads him to a warehouse, where he interrogates a thug who tells him where to go next. After a battle with Shocker, he heads for the airfield, but is interrupted by a bomb scare on the way. At the airfield, Spider-Man observes an unconscious pilot's plane being started up, and plants another tracer on a helicopter used by the attackers. Successfully freeing the pilot before the plane crashes, he follows the helicopter's tracer to a train yard, where he battles Sandman and boards a fleeing train. On board, he encounters Beetle, who leaves behind a clue as to his scheme.
Meanwhile, the Science and Industry ball is stormed by Hammerhead who has come to take Dr. Watts hostage. When Spider-Man defeats him, it becomes apparent that Sandman has escaped with Watts. Spider-Man decides to head for BioTech itself, where he ultimately faces Lizard. The defeated Lizard reverts to his human form and explains that Electro's goal was to steal the "Bio-Nexus" device, before instructing Spider-Man to go to Dr. Watts' lab.
Following a rooftop chase, he arrives at the lab and learns of the device's power source, only to be caught in another battle against Sandman. Defeating Sandman by flushing him down the sewer grate with water, he sees a news report about the power source - a sapphire named Zeus' Tear - being on display in the museum, and promptly heads there. Catching up with Dr. Watts and Electro, he battles Electro and, in the battle, Dr. Watts is accidentally captured by Electro, who offers to free her if Spider-Man gives him Zeus' tear. Spider-Man reluctantly obeys, and misses in an attempt to reclaim the gem before Electro catches it.
Electro uses the gem to supercharge himself into Hyper-Electro, before flying to a massive conductor to use his new powers. He then yells, "TONIGHT, ELECTRO DANCES WITH THE GODS!!" Spider-Man eventually discovers his weakness by damaging the Bio-Nexus and making Hyper-Electro vulnerable by having him attack the generators that had their capacitors removed by Spider-Man. With Electro vulnerable at those points, Spider-Man defeats him.
The next day, Spider-Man reads the front page of a newspaper published by the Daily Bugle. Outside of it listing that Spider-Man destroyed the Bio-Nexus device and the Zeus' Tear, the newspaper states that Thor was the one who saved Manhattan from Electro. Spider-Man reacts to this by asking "Now what's this all about." Spider-Man then states that he's got to get a new agent.
Meanwhile, Electro is in jail while Hammerhead and Shocker are playing Poker. Electro complains that he would've been a god if Spider-Man hadn't ruined his plan. Hammerhead silences him by telling him to "shut up." When Hammerhead asks Shocker if he knows any other card games, Shocker states that maybe the villains in Doctor Octopus' cell may know some. As Shocker asks if any of them know how to play Go Fish, it shows Doctor Octopus banging his head on the cell bars as he does at the end of the first game.

Spider-man Movie: The video game:

Plot:

Peter Parker develops super-spider powers after being bitten by a genetically altered spider. The game opens with an optional tutorial, narrated by Bruce Campbell, where Peter learns to use his powers and the player learns the controls of the game and how to read the HUD. After competing in a wrestling match as Spider-Man, Peter is devastated when his Uncle Ben is killed by the leader of the Skulls gang. Peter uses his new powers to track down and defeat the murderer. Peter vows to use his powers for good and to fight evil in Manhattan. Meanwhile, Norman Osborn and OsCorp are investigating the appearance of this new hero. Anxious to develop his Human Performance Enhancer "Super-Soldier" Serum, the main goals of which are already exhibited by the super-hero, Osborn orders the capture of Spider-Man, deploying hunter-killer robots for this purpose. Spider-Man fights these robots and emerges victorious. Meanwhile, the Shocker has just robbed a bank, and is driving away with his thugs as Spidey lands, only to be hit by Vulture. Spider-Man goes after Shocker first. His battle with Shocker leads him through Grand Central Station, into the sewers and to a subway station, where Spider-Man defeats him in a climactic battle. Afterward, Shocker tells Spider-Man about Vulture's lair: an old clocktower on the Lower East Side of town. Spider-Man climbs Vulture's tower, but Vulture escapes. Spider-Man defeats Vulture atop the Chrysler Building.
Osborn's scientists tell him that now two individuals with arachnid DNA are at large in Manhattan, and Osborn orders the capture of both. Spider-shaped robots pursue a desperate Scorpion through the sewers. Peter goes down to the subways to take pictures of his battle site with Shocker, when he runs into Scorpion. After Spider-Man helps Scorpion defeat the machines, the apparently paranoid and unhinged Scorpion turns on Spidey, and they fight. Spider-Man wins, but the Scorpion escapes. Meanwhile, Norman Osborn is fired from OsCorp and takes his own untested super-soldier serum to become the forever-feared Green Goblin. Spider-Man defeats the Goblin at the yearly OsCorp Unity Day Festival. Later, Goblin confronts Spider-Man again and is defeated, but tells Spider-Man of bombs planted downtown. Spidey races against time to defuse the bombs, and is attacked again by Green Goblin, this time with deadly small devices called razor bats.
In the Xbox version only, Norman hires Kraven the Hunter after the bomb threat to capture Spider-Man; having lured Spider-Man in, Kraven poisons the web-slinger with a lethal gas, forcing Spider-Man to track Kraven through zoo corridors filled with traps before he finally confronts and defeats Kraven in a cage match in the main area of the zoo.
After studying a wing of a felled razor bat and determining that it was manufactured by OsCorp, Spider-Man goes to OsCorp to research its connection with the Goblin. He discovers that the company is producing highly dangerous chemical weapons, and shuts down the operation. After finding out that the Goblin is after Mary Jane, Spider-Man chases him down to a bridge. Here, Spider-Man has his final battle with the Green Goblin, who is impaled by his own glider. Spider-Man unmasks the Goblin to reveal Norman Osborn's face. Osborn's last words are, "Tell Harry, I'm sorry." Spider-Man replies, "I'm sorry, too." Mary Jane and Spider-Man are reunited, they kiss, and the game ends.

Spider-man 2 movie: The video game:

Plot:

It is two years following the events of the first game. Spider-Man is trying to balance his civilian and superhero life, frequently late or absent for school, work, and leisure time with his friends. Following dinner with Mary Jane Watson, Peter thwarts an armed looting of an art museum, and tracks down an escaped robber, the Black Cat. Soon after this, he thwarts an attack in the streets of Manhattan by The Rhino. Meanwhile, Doctor Otto Octavius attempts to recreate nuclear fusion of that seen in the sun to provide an energy source for Manhattan. To control this fusion, he creates four metal arms which he can mentally control. His fusion creates a strong magnetic field, destroying the lab, killing his wife Rosie, and grafting his metal arms to his spine and giving his arms control over him. He blames Spider-Man for the incident, despite the fact that Spider-Man was not in the lab until the middle of it.
Octavius, now known as Dr. Octopus, kidnaps Aunt May, but she is saved by Spider-Man. In the time following, special effects artist Quentin Beck tries to prove that Spider-Man is a fraud by challenging Peter in a series of "games". Spider-Man emerges successful. Consequently, Beck tries to kill Spider-Man, but is thwarted. The embarrassment causes Beck to assume the identity of Mysterio, attacking journalists attending his press conference, and commands his "UFOs" to "invade" the Statue of Liberty. Both of these attacks are thwarted by Spider-Man's efforts, with no casualties. Spider-Man eventually teams up with Black Cat, who leads him to the Shocker, who escaped during Beck's initial competition with Spider-Man. Shocker is apprehended in a warehouse after attempting to use an experimental propulsion system to enhance his powers, while Mysterio is knocked out with one punch from Spider-Man while trying to rob a Speedy Mart. Peter takes a few photos of Beck as Mysterio, and J. Jonah Jameson uses these photos to make it appear that Spider-Man is in league with Mysterio. Black Cat then leads Spider-Man to an illegal weapons trade, where she tries to convince him to permanently become Spider-Man, but he rejects the idea, saying that he cannot stop being either Spider-Man or who he really is.
Dr. Octopus kidnaps Mary Jane Watson and steals tritium from Harry Osborn to repower his nuclear fusion in exchange for Spider-Man. A long battle on top of a moving train leads to Peter being delivered to Harry. Harry unmasks him, and is greatly shocked that his best friend is Spider-Man. Nevertheless, Harry tells Peter where Dr Octopus is based, and Spider-Man sets off to defeat Dr. Octopus a final time. The fusion reactor is shut down, and Dr. Octopus regains control over his mind, and sacrifices his life to permanently destroy his fusion reactor.
The next day, Peter gets a surprise visit from Mary Jane, who tells Peter that she cannot live without him, and wants to offer her full support to his life as Spider-Man. With his confidence renewed, Spider-Man continues to defend the city from evil - thus a never-ending game.

Ultimate Spider-man:

Plot:

The game begins with a recap of Spider-Man's (Peter Parker) first fight with Venom (Eddie Brock) before he disappeared. Spider-Man fights Venom on the high school football field on a rainy night, before spanning to the middle of a street where Venom was believed to be killed by a downed, live power line. Three months later, Parker has resumed his normal life and has forgotten about Venom. After stopping Shocker, Spider-Man ends up in a race against Human Torch. Meanwhile, Eddie, who is actually alive, has been feeding on people randomly in a nearby park and proves his strength in a fight with Wolverine into a bar and then into a next-door building.

After a fight with the R.H.I.N.O., Spider-Man gets his first foreshadowing of Venom returning when his Spider-Sense overloads. That night, Silver Sable and her Wild Pack attack Venom, who easily escapes. During a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Peter gets his "Eddie headaches" again and fights his former friend on the roof. However, Venom is later captured by Silver Sable. Kept imprisoned in an energy cage, Bolivar Trask and Adrian Toomes convince Eddie to test the suit for them as they knew Eddie and Peter's parents. His first test is to battle the recently escaped Electro where they fight over a knocked out Spider-Man in Times Square. Venom will not let Electro kill Spider-Man and ends up fighting and defeating him. Before Venom can eliminate an unconscious Spider-Man, S.H.I.E.L.D. interferes and Venom makes his escape. Nick Fury wakes up Spider-Man as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents arrest Electro. Venom returns to Trask where he reveals to Silver Sable that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. He then transforms and is chased away by the Wild Pack.

Meanwhile, a mercenary who calls himself the Beetle attacks New York by freeing the Green Goblin from his prison. Spider-Man pursues the Beetle after he steals a vial containing a sample of Sandman. After a brief fight, Spider-Man loses him during the battle. When asking the nearby people if they have seen the Beetle pass by, they point to the Latverian Embassy. Later on, Fury visits Peter at the top of the Daily Bugle warning him not to go to the Latverian Embassy. After Peter leaves, Fury tells Sharon Carter that Peter will do the opposite anyway. When Spider-Man ends up outside of the Latverian Embassy, Green Goblin emerges and Spider-Man pursues him to the U.N. building. After being defeated, Green Goblin is taken into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody by Sharon Carter and some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Beetle is later dispatched to collect a sample of the Venom suit. Venom eventually pursues, fights, and defeats him.

While walking through town, Silver Sable fires a tranquilizer at Peter and tries to bring him to Trask. Peter awakens and they fight above the Queensboro Bridge before Venom appears and knocks Sable out. Peter ends up changing into Spider-Man and goes after Venom. Spider-Man and Venom fight but both go down due to Spider-Man knocking Eddie out and the tranquilizer that Silver Sable fired at Peter takes effect. Eddie awakens inside Trask Industries hearing Peter screaming as Toomes injects him with their own makeshift sample of the Venom suit, transforming him into Carnage. After a fight, Venom then absorbs Carnage and spits Peter out. The combination of the Carnage suit and the leftover Venom samples in Peter's blood, Eddie gains complete control over the suit. Bolivar Trask finally gives Peter files on their parents but takes them while trying to flee from an angry Venom. Venom is eventually defeated but escapes from S.H.E.I.L.D. authorities.

As S.H.I.E.L.D. arrives, Peter reads the files and discovers that the reason for their parents' plane crash was due to Eddie Brock, Sr., trying on the Venom suit onboard. There were only three survivors and one of the witnesses was Peter's mother who died in the ambulance. When Peter tells Fury that Eddie must see these files, Fury tells him that Eddie escaped. Later, a cutscene shows Eddie on a small prison island where Trask has been imprisoned. Eddie claims that he cannot believe that "after all the things you did, all the things you made me do; that after all of that, all you got was three years in a golf course prison." After stating this, Eddie transforms into Venom, and proceeds to kill Trask. Then, the game cuts to a scene showing Peter and Mary-Jane sitting atop a warehouse roof. He tells Mary-Jane that he does not know if he is scared of, or for, Eddie, who Peter knows is out there somewhere. She replies by telling him not to worry about it, and that while Eddie was not there, she is. The two move closer to each other, and Peter puts his arm around her. The final cutscene shows Venom standing on the corner of a tall building with the top of his suit open. After showing Eddie's eyes open, the suit fully envelops him. He roars and proceeds to run and jump off the building.

Spider-man 3 Movie : The video game:

Plot:

The game starts off as Peter Parker (a.k.a. Spider-Man) swings into a burning building. He defeats the bombers of the building and saves a woman from being killed. It then skips to the next day. His former best friend Harry Osborn does not talk to him anymore and he has a new rival in the Daily Bugle: Eddie Brock. Meanwhile, an escaped convict Flint Marko falls into a lab pit and turns into sand. A small meteor crashes, with a symbiote inside.
Spider-Man takes Mary Jane Watson, his girlfriend, on a thrill ride, and after that, talks about Harry. Mary Jane comforts him; while talking, the symbiote attaches to Peter's shoe. Meanwhile, Harry comes out of a chamber in the Green Goblin lair, filled with Goblin gas.
After visiting his science teacher Dr. Connors, who turned into the Lizard by performing a experiment on himself to grow a new arm. The Lizard then turns other people into lizards, then escapes into the sewers, Spider Man then follows and defeats the Lizard, turning Connors back to himself. Harry (now the New Goblin) attacks Peter. They go on a high-fly battle on New Goblin's glider, but Goblin is defeated and knocked unconscious. Peter brings New Goblin to the hospital, where he will be treated.
During his sleep, the symbiote consumes Peter, leading Peter to have a new jet-black suit. The new symbiote suit makes him stronger, more agile, and more aggressive. Marko, now the Sandman, recently robbed a bank, and is headed for the subways. Spider-Man pursues him, and eventually defeats him, washing him away in a sewer line.
Brock and Peter both are given an assignment by their boss, J. Jonah Jameson: catch Spider-Man robbing something, and the one who does gets a promotion. Brock attempts to cheat by paying someone to pose as Spider-Man. The real Spider-Man appears, now influenced by the black suit, breaks Brock's camera and punches him. Brock tells him that he has many more cameras, and automatically photographs Spider-Man punching him. Spider-Man is able to recover the cameras and Brock swears revenge.
Peter gives Mary Jane a ride back to her apartment after a horrible date, where under the influence of the black suit, he alienates her. After acting too bossy and asking her to shut up, she decides to call off the relationship, which saddens Peter. Peter decides to go to a church, where he attempts to remove the symbiote suit, and successfully releases its bond to him. Unfortunately, Brock secretly finds and watches Peter unmask himself, and attaches to the symbiote, becoming Venom.
Brock finds a still-alive Sandman, and blackmails him to work together to defeat Spider-Man, or he will kill Sandman's daughter, Penny. Sandman eventually agrees. They kidnap MJ, so Peter suits up again in the red suit as Spider-Man. He goes to the construction site where Venom and Sandman are holding MJ captive in a taxi. He fights Venom and Sandman while Harry, recovered from his head injury, decides to help Peter rescue MJ as the New Goblin. Harry arrives and rescues MJ, and fights a giant Sandman which he defeats. Harry attempts to help Spider-Man fight Venom, but is killed in the process. Peter eventually defeats Venom by weakening him with sonic vibrations then dropping the two of them off a building. He survives as Venom is impaled by a steel bar.
Peter mends his relationship with MJ, and Sandman, still alive, is reunited with Penny, who has just been rescued by police

Spider-man Friend or Foe:

Plot:

In an opening cutscene, Spider-Man finds himself beset by his movie villains. He gains help from New Goblin as he combats the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, and Venom. All six characters suddenly find themselves targeted by an enemy force and one-by-one, the villains begin disappearing. Meanwhile, Spider-Man is rescued by Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D., who informs him that the meteor which brought the Venom symbiote to Earth had broken up in the Earth's atmosphere and five more pieces had landed in numerous locations across the globe. Fury sends Spider-Man to retrieve the shards of meteors. Spider-Man quickly finds that the villains who attacked him and several more of his foes, including Rhino and Scorpion, have been placed under mind control of a mysterious villain. The villain also creates and controls holographic/symbiote combination foot soldiers called P.H.A.N.T.O.M.s (short for Perpetual Holographic Avatar Nano-Tech Offensive Monsters). As Spider-Man fights his enemies one-by-one and rescues them from the mind control, they promise to aid him in finding the villain responsible. As Spider-Man progresses, he obtains more allies such as Black Cat, Iron Fist, Lizard (not portrayed as a villain), and Blade. He discovers that the evil genius is Mysterio, who intends to use his army to take over the world, using each shard of the meteor to make them stronger. Spider-Man decides to temporarily don the Black Suit for the final battle. Ultimately, Spider-Man defeats him and turns the shards over to Fury, who decides to analyse them and refers to the study as "Project Carnage".

Spider-man :Web of Shadows:

Plot:

The game begins with Spider-Man searching for Mary Jane in a symbiote-infested New York. During a flashback to four days earlier, Spider-Man retells his account of how his encounter with Venom ended with a piece of the symbiote binding to himself. After the fight with Venom, a hurt Mary Jane is sent to a hospital and meets Luke Cage during a gang war. Cage explains that the Rolling Sevens and Park Avenue gangs are at war, and that their task is to bring the two to a truce. After pursuing the two gang leaders across the city, Spider-Man manages to get them to agree to a peaceful meeting in Central Park.
Outside the rendezvous point, Spider-Man discovers high-tech assassins on top of the nearby buildings. After defeating them, he traces the assassins back to the Kingpin. After a few encounters with the Black Cat, Moon Knight, Vulture, and Kingpin’s gang, Spider-Man and the Kingpin's henchmen are attacked by symbiote-controlled citizens of New York City. The police soon arrive and Spider-Man is witnessed throwing symbiote controlled people off of a building and is then considered to be a murderer.

As the game progresses New York becomes more overrun with symbiote hives.
Wolverine, thinking Spider-Man to be possessed by a symbiote, tracks down and confronts the web slinger. After a battle, the two settle their differences and begin tracking down infected citizens. Eventually Spider-Man finds Venom throwing people into symbiote pods, leaving them infected. After the pods are destroyed, and the second fight with Venom, S.H.I.E.L.D. quarantines New York and sets up symbiote controlled citizen quarantine camps. Electro attacks one of the camps looking for his sister, who is symbiote controlled, and becomes infected himself attempting to help her.
Spider-Man decides the only way to save New York is to break the Tinkerer out of Ryker's Island in order to utilise his scientific genius to find a countermeasure to the symbiotes. Upon reaching the prison, Spider-Man teams up with the Rhino, using his strength to help free the Tinkerer. The Tinkerer then designs a device to be installed on the Trask Building that removes the symbiotes from their hosts without causing harm to the host. After defeating symbiote-infected versions of Electro, Wolverine, Black Cat, and the Vulture, Spider-Man activates the device and destroys all the symbiotes in New York City itself, including his own. He then responds to an attack on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, which is infested by Venom and the remaining symbiotes.
Enlisting Moon Knight to carry him to the Helicarrier, Spider-Man sets bombs to destroy the ship, but is attacked by a giant five headed version of Venom. Spider-Man is able to destroy four of the heads, and calls on Brock to try and assist with destroying the symbiotes. Realizing the destruction that has been caused by the Venom symbiote, Brock sacrifices himself. The symbiote monster weakens, and the Helicarrier explodes.
Based on the player's actions throughout the game, Web of Shadows concludes with one of four possible endings. If the player has made a majority of red-suited choices, Spider-Man narrates about his victory on the top of a building before swinging away with Mary Jane. If the player has made slightly more red-suited choices than black, he calls Mary Jane to try and apologize about his actions during the invasion. If the player has made slightly more black-suited choices than red, Spider-Man leads the symbiote conquest of Manhattan and is hunted by Wolverine, who has bonded with another symbiote. If the player has made a majority of black-suited choices, the former ending is amended to show a symbiote-controlled Black Cat by his side during the invasion.

The last decent games featuring the character were Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man IMO. "Web of Shadows" and "Shattered Dimensions" were crap. :P Sure they were playable, but awful quality when compared to other games currently available to buy.

I HATED Web of Shadows. Spider-Man 2 and 3 were the best Spider-Man games, if not the best superhero games out there. Spider-Man 3 got a lot of bad rep, but IMO it was just as good as Spider-Man 2 and it had amazing graphics. Black suit Spider-Man was bitching. I loved grabbing Kingpin and throwing him around the building like it was nobody's business. I also enjoyed the story arcs that had some of Spidey's classic villains in them like The Lizard, Kraven, Scorpion, and Rhino. One thing that the games nailed was Spider-Man's sense of humor, amazing when you think about how devoid of it the movies themselves were.

Ultimate Spider-Man is overrated IMO. Besides the fact that it's Ultimate, I didn't like how the combat was so limited. It was just punch, punch, kick or kick, kick, punch. A real downgrade from the virtually limitless amount of combos available to you in the movie trilogy games.

The first two PS1 Spider-Man games nailed the different powers with each costume. The movie game did nice voice acting with upgraded graphics. Ultimate Spider-Man got the comic book feel perfectly. Web of Shadows perfected Spider physics and Shattered Dimensions did a nice job changing the style of how a Spider-Man game could be played. My personal favorite was Web of Shadows, just because they got the physics in perfect sync with the idea of how Spidey should fight, move and web shoot. It was also the first game where you could switch powers on the fly and go into- The Symbiote Suit!

I gotta say Ultimate Spider-man. Spider-man 2000 was good too.

Didn't realize a lot of people liked web of shadows.

Also this Total Mayhem game for iphone is pretty bitchin

Why all the love for Web of Shadows? I know I'm not the only one that thought it was a piece of garbage. The gameplay was terribly repetitive. The story was weak. The "good or evil" choices you made in the game had utterly stupid outcomes and didn't affect the story or game in the slightest. And to top it all off, the voice acting was TERRIBLE!! I never wanna witness another poindexter *snort snort* Spider-Man for as long as I live.

Spider-Man 2 Movie: The video game and Ultimate Spider-Man were the best. SM2 was awesome because it had a very good gameplay and a great upgrade stuff, ultimate was like an updated version of SM2.

@ SymbioteJoker I agree the game was very fun but the voice of spider-man was terrible.

nice, I own every one of these games apart from the crap, childish Friend or Foe and Im in the process of getting Web of Shadows & Shattered Dimensions.

I love the PS1 Spiderman games for the pure nostalgia of them (plus Rino Romano as Spider-Man is fantastic), the first movie game is pretty shit compared to the joy of the free-roaming style of Spider-man 2 & 3 and I love the stylised graphics and web-slinging of Ultimate Spider-Man, I have no real favourite, I love them all

I also love the Spider-Man movie games because Tobey Maguire was a hell of a lot more wise-cracking in them than he was in the movies

Im just interested in what Spider-Man game is coming next, does Spider-Man Web of Shadows or Shattered Dimensions deserve sequels? I would love to see an Ultimate Spider-Man sequel. Im guessing the next game will be one based on the Spidey movie reboot in 2012, will it be any good though is the real question (both the movie & the game)

Can't decide between Spider-man 2 and Ultimate Spidey. Both were fantastic. Hm...eh, I'll give the edge to Ultimate for having a playable Venom lol

I'm one of those "it doesn't matter as long as it has Spider-Man I love it" people.
But I think Spider-Man 2: movie game was the best over all but I liked the fighting in Shattered Dimensions

is everyone just mesmerized by all the guest appearances in Web of Shadows or something?

it was a poorly made game, and was full of glitches. no where near the quality of some of the others up there.

@ Galactus

hell yeah! i forgot about Maximum Carnage. that game was so fun, but really hard!

Spider-Man 2000 is by far the best game on this list. I suspect that most of the people voting otherwise haven't played it – it really is fantastic, especially for its time.

Maximum Carnage beats all. but if we're chosing newer games im goin with either ultimate or shattered dimensions. although i didnt play friend or foe, it kinda seems like that isnt a bad thing
