In the aftermath of Marvel's "Thor" and "Marvel's The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Why the [frick] was this deleted?!!! That was awesome! I'm starting to get pissed off at Marvel now. This showed off more of Thor's fighting style, something that was lacking form the films and they cut it? Why would they do that? -_- Ugh first off they don't film the scene where Thor uses all the lightning from the 9 relms to defeat Malekith and now this? I hope Whedon does some cool stuff with Thor in Avengers 2.

Really a shame this was cut. Marvel Studios is a hard thing to care about since Avengers. Dont know if I'll ever give them my money again, disappointment costs too much these days.

This is just eating at me... I enjoyed Thor2 more than the first, but just barely. Does ANYONE even like Jane Foster or Darcy? Was their screentime really more important than Thor's?!

It feels like the definition of MADNESS to have cut so much awesome for so much waste (2nd aftercredits scene was as disappointing as the craptastic shwarma gag I wish I never waited 10minutes to see).

That was some serious badassery!!! Can't believe they cut that out!

Marvel Studios needs to learn that we fans like long movies. Just look at the critical and box office success of the LOTR trilogy and the Hobbit movies. I rarely hear complaints that those movies are too long. I'm patiently waiting for the first 3 hour long MCU movie. Sadly so much gets wasted on the cutting room floor.

I really do hope that there will be a director's cut of Thor TDW. Has anyone heard anything?

@JumpingSpider

All of the LOTR movies are WAY too long. Saw them all in a midnight marathon at a theatre, extended versions at that. Almost 13 hours. Was ridiculous.

I just don't get some of Marvel Studios' editorial decisions. Feige is too into streamlining his films and always ends up cutting out really interesting character moments like this. We finally get to see Thor's fighting style outside of wielding a hammer and he axes it. Why?

Goddamn it. There's another deleted scene when we see Jane awake on Asgard on her first day. Along with the other deleted scenes, Marvel made huge mistakes in the cutting room with this film. WTF?!

I dont think Marvel is EVER going to do a director's cut. I've been working on my own edit of Avengers as I feel they showed us better takes in the trailer and left in the weaker ones in the movie.

Wxample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVyoXimCrdQ was in the trailer, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d59mOxLVZrA was in the movie). Maybe its just me, but the second felt extremely phoned in. Thankfully for HD trailers, I can exchange these and enjoy a better movie.

Also, where Widow meets Banner, when he says "What if I say no?" he sounds concerned but the trailers had a nice pause before 'no' that added a more interesting mentality to Banner. May be petty and little, but little things matter to me. WHERE's THE #*$&ING HELMET?! Hemsworth is a baby for not wearing it and MarvelStudios a joke for not making it more comfortable. Do they even know what LOTR actors have to deal with?? I hate this quantity over quality crap, America! Get your mind right!

Asgardians are a bunch of dumbasses. Why the [frick] are these clowns running around with swords and shields instead of guns? They obviously have the technology since they had [frick]ing laser turrets all over Asgard to shoot down ships. The marauders they were fighting had [frick]ing RPGs and rifles and they were still using swords.

Then, to show just how [frick]ing stupid it is to bring a knife to a gunfight, they show how a small group of elves are able to take over the castle using guns to just shoot the shit out of the guards who are carrying swords. It's time for Asgard to get with the times and arm their people with some [frick]ing firepower.

What the fk Marvel, why was this deleted?

I hated deleted scenes in general. Most of them should be included in the movie.

@Omega
Yeah, I know the scenes werent traded for each other or whatever I was unintentionally implying. I'm just pissed that knowing they had to do cuts, they chose to keep some of the most unamusing and utterly worthless scenes I've ever seen in any movie instead of the glory that should be THOR.

Dammit...it's been my biggest gripe in most superhero movies,the actual "fighting" is nearly non-existant.
In comics superheroes have great fight scenes!!

Only Blade films showcased a powered hero really kicking ass.
I love CBM's but the fighting must improve & this Thor scene was nice.

Whoever cut this film should be fired, I would venture to say that EVERY single deleted scene deserved to be in the final cut and would have made the final product soooo much better. Who cares if we had to sit 10 minutes longer!

I blame Taylor for this. Considering it was his first big screen feature I'm sure he isn't used to the entire process. When it came time for the editors to step in he let them walk all over him. Before the movie came out he was going on about the love triangle between Sif, Thor and Jane. Movie comes out and we get one glare as Sif walks past. If Alan Taylor stood up for his original vision I might not be pulling my hair out right now (i'm not really but yea lol).

yeah. why was this cut? there's a whole bunch of scenes left on the cutting room floor that would've added so much to the movie.

i'm starting to believe the rumor that Alan Taylor fought with marvel over the running time of the film. people should start tweeting #thordeletedscenes #alantaylor was right. i know he was pushing for a director's cut in one interview. we'll probably never see one because i doubt those are budgeted into their films.

Hum I don't see why you would want to cut the scenes we have seen so far???

I am getting worried with some of the direction Marvel is taking in regards to the films montage lately
