Huh. Weird. These things seem to be instantly green lighted without question. I would be say maybe they're actually trying to make sure they have a good film this time or might even finally let this series rest in peace.. but I don't like to kid myself.

First was great. Second was alright. Third was a convoluted mess, but still entertaining. Fourth was mediocre. Fifth is not needed.

I was thinking to myself, what if POTC was to remade? RDJ would be perfect for Sparrow.

Please please please please please no more Pirates of the Caribbean. Talk about beating a dead horse. Ever since he got cast as Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp has been overacting in every single role. I would have once rejoiced to hear that Depp had been cast as Dr. Strange, but now I just groan at the prospect of having to watch him in anything.

The 1st one was a very fun and entertaining film. The 2nd was pretty good the third was unbearable. It was excruciating to sit through. I attempted to watch number 4 a couple times but never made it 30 minutes in.
There's really nowhere to go with it.

Good. Do we really need a 5th POTC? THE ANSWER IS A RESOUNDING "NO".

Pirates 2 and 3, although executing a fun story, really became a silly caricature of the events and characters established in the first film.

The 4th film actually did a much better job of remaining faithful to the spirit of the first film. The biggest problem with it, IMO, was that it still felt too much like a sequel. Barbossa, Teague, and all of the silly references to the previous trilogy should have been left out. It should have been Jack and his crew on their own, new, adventure.

A few minor tweaks and I'd be willing to give Pirates 5 a chance.

Series need to be ended in odd number. POTC 5 fine, 6 hell no.

I being honest am surprised Disney would not make another one. They are easy money makers for them.

I personally want more pirate films. But not Disney Pirate films. I would love to see the book Pirate Latitudes become a movie. The book was great and I think a movie of it would be great. But it has to be R. Because if it's PG-13 then they will be taking out the great parts of the book.

The trilogy was fantastic, especially the first two, which I found to be perfect. I hated the whole Kylopso storyline in the 3rd one, but loved the rest. The fourth was a pile of garbage. Absolutely horrid with a mediocre director. The 5th needs to be more in line with the first 3 films.

Why not Jon Hamm?

The first Pirates was fantastic. The second Pirates was a whole load of fun. The third Pirates was okay and the fourth Pirates was meh.

So far, downhill from the first. I hope they got themselves a good story and bring some interesting new things to the whole saga. I'm sure this film will get made, just not as soon as thought.

After the Lone Ranger, Disney is VERY WORRIED. They lost a lot of money on that one. Don't worry, Star Wars will make it back for them, as well as Avengers:AOU. I say get a better writer for part 5, and then do it. Don't end it on 4.
