COMICS: DC May Be Heading Towards CRISIS 2015; Pre-52 and New 52 Characters To Clash?

The New 52 has been met with a mixed response since its debut three years ago, with some fans clamouring for the return of previous continuity. Well, they may be getting their wish - inside sources claim that DC's April 2015 event will see characters from various realities "face to face!"

Bleeding Cool's Rich Johnson, infamous source of often reliable comic book rumours, has uncovered a mysterious new DC Comics project that he is dubbing "The DC Band-Aid". With next April being the 30th anniversary of the multiverse-shattering Crisis on Infinite Earths, and the publisher's three weekly titles (Batman Eternal, New 52: Futures End and Earth 2: World's End) set to end in March, the site has been suggesting that something big is coming in ten months time. Well, Johnson has learned that the "Band-Aid" project "consists of twenty two-part stories plus a weekly book running through the two months, totalling 48 books in all."

He says we'll see various DC characters from different realities going head-to-head,
suggesting that it's inspired by last year's Injustice: Gods Among Us videogame, and "will include Pre-52 versions of various DC characters, face to face with their New 52 counterparts." Johnson states that it's being planned well in advance by Dan Didio and Marie Javins in order for DC to keep publishing books during their move from New York to Burbank. None of this has been confirmed as of yet, but Bleeding Cool has been right in a lot of cases over the years. If DC are working on Crisis 2015 - or "The DC Band-Aid" - what alternate charcters and earths do you want to see?

I don't read that many comics but I do know about the mixed reactions to The New 52, so I would guess that something of this caliber could draw more people in? At face value to me this seems like an interesting concept, but I want to see what some of the active comic readers have to say about this.

so if true this might mean an end to the new 52. That be nice and sad because I grew to these changes and even liked some of them.

They're probably using this to fix / "band-aid" all the not so good New 52 versions of characters and bring back some old versions. Probably all minor characters though

If this means improving the New 52, I'm all for this. The New 52 comics have been more miss than hit.

I think that the New 52 has more good elements than bad so it's better. But that's just my opinion...

If this can get Superman into a costume that's better than the New 52 version,by all means..do it.
His current collar & armor looking outfit is painfully bad.

I can see the two Supermen going at it:

P52SM: "Put the underwear on over your pants!"

N52SM: "NO!"

P52SM: "Put em' ON, dammit!"

N52SM: "NO! They look stupid!"

P52SM: "Are you saying I look stupid?"

N52SM: "Are you wearing the underwear?"

P52SM: "Yes, I am."

N52SM: "Then, yes, I'm saying you look stupid!"

P52SM: "Oh, you sumbitch!!"

Aaaand, the slap-fight begins!

@Jollem: The New 52 started with some flare, but there was a lot of sloppiness at the launch and a lot of unfulfilled promises. There were some bright spots: Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's "Batman" was fantastic, "Animal Man" was a revelation, and "Wonder Woman" was fresh and interesting. But over time, as others have mentioned, the whole universe lost its way. "Justice League," the flagship title, floudered from the beginning. (The art was great but the story was blah.) A lot of the reinvented characters were different in ways that made no sense, or - worse - were just uninteresting. The worst sin, though, from my point of view, was that the continuity was shit. After spending years coming up with a wonderfully rich continuity that showed how the characters evolved, DC had no idea how to reinvent their universe. They chickened out and tried to make the new universe contain the SAME storylines as the old one, which is boring, but those stories were told in a sub-par way, which is inexcusable.

Why can't they just have both? Akin to Marvel's 616 and Ultimate.
CavEl

The N52 was just starting to get awesome, the only character that was lacking was Supes.

Pak's Action Comics is badass and Geoff ought to make Superman good.

N52 characters are just better than the PC versions, most of the people whining about N52 probably don't read it.

@Feartheliving - Because DC is DC and Marvel is Marvel.
CavEl

Why don't you like N52 Superman? "He wears a collar, armor and doesn't wear undies on the outside"...

@Bender you're right, DC should do less gimmicks and more stuff like Original Sin and AvX.
