COMICS: More On CRISIS 2015 From A "DC Comics Creator"; Pre-52 Continuity Still Exisits

It's clear that DC has something big planned for April 2015, and now an alleged DC Comics creator has confirmed some of the details on "the Band-Aid" project - we will see pre-52 and New 52 characters, and the pre-52 universe still exists. Somewhere. Check it out!

Several days ago, we uncovered some details on DC's mysterious April 2015 project - dubbed "The DC Band-Aid" by Bleeding Cool - and now an alleged "DC Comics creator" has provided more on the event. We knew that it will hit during the company's relocation to Burbank and will be produced in advance, and the creator confirms that pre-52 and New 52 characters will feature, but it seems that the conclusion of Geoff Johns' Forever Evil doesn't have anything to do with it despite previous speculation. Here's the full statement, courtesy of BC:

There still seems to be confusion among editorial, and thus, creators, as to what the title and plot actually are, and it has changed several times.

The current plot might be comparable to Marvel’s Contest of Champions/Secret Wars from back in the day.

As of now, it is intended to be in-continuity and not an Elseworlds-type story.

It will feature some pre-52 characters along with New52 characters. So, apparently, the old pre-52 universe still exists somewhere, although how this is possible without invalidating Flashpoint is not clear.

As of right now, it has nothing to do with Anti-Monitor – many in editorial were surprised when Geoff Johns brought that character back. Some didn’t know about it until that issue was printed. This is not the first time they have been surprised by a plot point in his books…

Some interesting stuff there. Reports on this rumoured 'new Crisis' will certainly continue, so keep it here for the latest on whatever DC is doing next April.

I tried to get into the New 52, but it just isn't the same. I'm reading about 10 titles right now. But Im glad they aren't just dumping the 50+ years of continuity they have. I can't wait for the return of that.

Just stick with the New 52. It's fairly uncluttered. Don't muck it up.

April 2015 is the 30th anniversary of Crisis on Infinite Earths. People have been speculating for a year that DC has something big planned to commemorate the anniversary.

Future's End and Batman Eternal both end in April 2015 so they're going to lead directly into the event.

I really hope this event leads to the New 52 being greatly improved.

@BatManHeisenberg The New 52 gave us a badass Aquaman. Then again, it also gave us a Superman who is an asshole.

The pre-52 stuff is probably going to be the alternate Earths from then, like how there was an Earth 2 & a Earth Two (notice the spelling) so it's gonna be something like that. Willing to bet it.

Hhhhhhmmm Not sure what to think of this. Its definitely exciting news.

From what I'm hearing its supposed to be more of a soft reboot. Its not going to bring back pre 52 totally but more just smooth out the rough edges of the new 52. Which sounds good to me.

There are a lot of good things about the new 52 but is missing a lot of good things from pre new 52.

Aquaman is a bad ass. The JL is pretty cool. The updated costumes are great, especially Supermans. Wonder woman is cool as well. So there are a lot cool things that world be a shame to just disregard.
Especially since rebooting so soon would confuse the crap out of each other.

But the pre new 52 has the legacy characters. The Teen titans history. Donnna Troy. Bart Allen. Tim Drake. Clark and Lois. Ma and Pa Kent. The real JSA.

And anything to bring the REAL Wally West is welcomed.

If done right this could be a really good move that could please the fans of pre and new 52 fans and keep the best of both worlds.

IF done right. Which I'm sure DC will somehow screw up unfortunatly.

Best news ever! I am not a fan of the New52 I preferred the old 52. So if the PreNew 52 is one of the 52 universes. I hope that DC will start selling comics from that universe too. Because like that one so much more then the New one.

Wait... You mean to tell me I burned my pre-New 52 books (because they were non-canon now) for nothing? Crap. Does anyone know where to find the Knightfall trilogy for a low price? same for Batman: Hush and the Long Halloween.
