NYCC '14: 'Spider-Gwen' To Get Ongoing Series

People are loving the idea of Gwen Stacy as Spider-Woman, a take that debuted in the pages of Edge of Spider-Verse, and based on her immense popularity, Marvel has confirmed that she will launch into her own comic book title at some point in the near future.

Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez's take on Gwen Stacy as the Spider-Woman of an alternate universe has been universally acclaimed, and it seems Marvel are listening. Her debut in last month's Edge of Spider-Verse #2 flew off the shelves, and on top of making appearances in Dan Slott's main event and an upcoming Spider-Woman book, 'Spider-Gwen' will have her own ongoing series. At the NYCC Retailer Meeting today (which also showed off an Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer and teased the future of the Fantastic Four and X-Men) Marvel officially announced the project, with no creative team, title or start date, but one can hope that Latour and Rodriguez return to work on the character. Did you read Edge of Spider-Verse #2 and are looking forward to see more of Gwen Stacy? Sound off below!

The Spider-Verse issue with her was a good read so the series will be worth a check out.

SPIDEY HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY FAVORITE CHARACTER AND PROBABLY ALWAYS WILL BE.

IT'S JUST SO FRUSTRATING HOW THEY KEEP SCREWING WITH HIS STORIES. FROM THE CLONE WARS TO ONE MORE DAY TO THE SUPERIOR-SPIDER MAN TO THE SPIDER-VERSE. PETER DEALS WITH TOO MUCH SHIT.

BUT THEN AGAIN THAT'S WHAT MAKES HIM SO GREAT.

Uh, dude, it's set in an alternate universe. This isn't some secret ploy to spite Sony or whatever.
