Speaking to IGN, Justice League writer Geoff Johns and new series artist Jason Fabok discussed the current arc of the title, The Amazo Virus, and what they're excited for fans to see. Lex Luthor joining the team after the events of Forever Evil has served as a big turning point for the book, and while a lot of the New 52 iteration has seen the team at odds with one another, this storyline is focused on bringing them together to face a challenging new threat. "Jay and I both see this as a great opportunity, and working on the Justice League is the biggest opportunity there is," Johns said. "We've talked a lot about where we're taking the book and where we're taking the cast of characters. It really is focusing on the core Justice League post-Luthor, and Shazam, and Green Lantern's going to come back soon for the big Darkseid War storyline."
Readers of the series would know that Hal Jordan departed the team way back in Justice League #12, but Johns has been hinting at the inclusion of a GL in the book for some time now. As no other member of the Green Lantern Corps have been a member of the Justice League in the New 52 continuity, it's highly likely he's referring to Mr. Jordan, as Johns followed up the statement above with an excited "Yes, he's coming back!" Something also worth mentioning is that Hal is mentioned in Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's current Batman story arc Endgame, and given the fact that that story takes place post-Batman Eternal, it's possible that Hal will join the roster shortly and remain a member. That may just be a continuity error, but it also might play into it. The full interview also covers Fabok joining the creative team, his artistic process, character designs, the uncanny timing of the Amazo Virus as a plot point while ebola becomes a worldwide issue and much more.
