Black Widow, she's been a spy, a villain, an Avenger and a hero. Which one will show up in Iron Man 2? Director Jon Favreau knows that the character has a rich history in the comics but this is a different universe.
"She is not what she presents herself as, but I don't want to say more"
In a earlier interview with LA Times, Favreau said
"you have Natasha Romanoff inserted into the Tony-Pepper relationship." Does that mean she will simply put a strain on their relationship or is it something more sinister?
"It's fun," he says, "to keep people guessing. Part of the comics is the mystery surrounding character and then the sexual dynamic but also the cold-blooded efficiency like the spider."
Favreau said Johannson was so eager to get the role she dyed her hair red for her meeting with the director to help him visualize her in character.
"She's the best. You forget how young she is when you deal with her because she is such a smart woman. I get why Woody Allen has worked with her so many times because she is such a smart, smart woman. She asks the right questions, she's got that intelligence, but she's also very trusting in a director. And she busted her butt training."
