Wow, this is huge. Good for DC (I hope. Does he know comics?) Doesn't give us what to expect with his ability to create a cohesive continuity however.

I'm going to guess he had very little to do with relaunching the X-men movies. Everything i saw it was Bryan Singer and Lauren Shuler Donner that revived it. People seem to be reading a lot into this just because he has some involvement on X-men First Class. They also say he oversaw Knight and Day, so lets not act like this is some genius hire.

@BatFleck He kind already has, the script has been written be the Academy Award winning writer of Argo. BvS is much Avengers where Zak Penn came in, but script was redone, but Zak retained a credit.

This is great news for WB & DC. Hopefully he can help WB set up their DC Cinematic Universe. Even better would be if WB gave DC their own movie studio. They could call it DC Entertainment Studios or something like that.

Crevello was a vp production at Fox, where he helped re-launch the X-Men franchise with X-Men: First Class and oversaw Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, among other films. Before that, Crevello ran his own production company, which had a first-look deal at Mandate, where he had also served as vp production. Crevello was earlier a creative executive at Universal Pictures, where he worked on such films as Friday Night Lights and Jarhead.

Crevello began his career as a mergers and acquisitions attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York. He has been a full-time writer for the past two years.

He has an encyclopedic knowledge of comic books and will fit right into the WB tentpole universe.

Damn, WB is shaping up. They got a guy that is determined to bring as many DC to the big screen as possible in Tsugihara (CEO), a great creative team on their two biggest films (Affleck, Snyder, and Terrio on BvS and JL), and now they have the final piece, the piece that connects them together. Tsugihara is broad picture, Crevello is the one to connect each film, and the trio on the smaller side of the spectrum.
