Ever since the announcement of Sony and Marvel teaming up to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel cinematic universe fans have been wondering who will be portraying the web-slinging, Spider-Menace and after a whole month of speculation according to a Reddit user known as 'redditleaker23456' Sony has found their new Spider-Man in the form of Teen Wolf actor, Dylan O'Brien. I also want to mention that this reddit user also dropped the news of the Sony/Marvel ahead of its announcement. Well how did Dylan O'Brien get the part? Apparently Dylan O'Brien gave Sony the "audition of his life" and that Sony "loved what they saw from him". Further more Dylan O'Brien managed to beat out Logan Lerman because Sony felt "Dylan had a better grasp and feel of the tone they were going for". Now he does go on to say that anything could happen until the announcement, but has since updated his post to say it is official and that Dylan O'Brien has indeed signed on to play Spider-Man.

Personally Dylan O'Brien was my pick for Spider-Man even before his name started popping up. So what do you guys think? Do you hope the rumor turns out to be true or do you prefer someone else as Spider-Man? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Yeah.. I think it's too soon, and Marvel should be in on the casting decision too. So I'm not gonna buy it, at least for a while.

I hope so. I really, really, really hope so. He proved he can carry a franchise, and also looks like Peter should. Plus, he's 22 or 23, not 30-something.

I hope its true. Ive been saying he would be a good Spiderman for a long while. Even before the Sony mess and around the time TASM came out.

@Malakas

Supposedly, it's the same Reddit user who leaked the Marvel/Sony story.

He would make an awesome Peter Parker/Spider-Man, so I hope this turns out to be true.

While I think that this would be an ideal casting choice, I'm not quite ready to believe 'redditleaker23456'. :D

I this is deleted i will laugh hard. IF shit like this gets deleted yet Wilding can post stories where literally some random jackass on twitter is his source it'll just prove that there is no point in posting anything unless you're a power user.

Most movie insiders have said that Marvel has more control than Sony does.

Wow he must have brought his A game into this casting. After seeing Fury yesterday I am more in to Logan Lerman vibe. He nailed that part playing a young rookie soldier. There was nothing wrong with Dylan in the Maze Runner, but at the same time it wasn't a performance that stood out like Logan did. Either way I am happy and can not wait to see his take on the famous web crawler.
