Kate Mara says “Not One Person Noticed Us” at San Diego Comic Con

On Tuesday’s Live with Kelly and Michael, Kate Mara chatted about her hair, her dogs, "Fant4stic", and she also explained her experience at SDCC, stating that the cast was not met with the most welcome arms at San Diego Comic Con last month. Check out the full interview after the jump

It’s been a rough few days for Fox’s “Fantastic Four” (Fant4stic) reboot.  The reviews have not been stellar and the film currently has a 14% on Rotten Tomatoes.
 
On Tuesday’s Live with Kelly and Michael, Mara explained that the cast was not met with the most welcome arms at San Diego Comic Con last month,
 
"We spent a whole day there, sort of working and doing press, and you don't really get to meet the fans. So the next morning, Jamie Bell and I decided, 'Well, we want the experience of Comic-Con. So let's just go out, let's walk to get a coffee amongst all of the fans,'"
 
Initially, Mara and the cast thought this would be a bad idea, but after the fact, the cast (jokingly) realized that nobody even noticed,
 
"And we were like, 'Well, maybe this is a bad idea. We'll get mobbed and it'll be crazy,' and not one person...not one person noticed us," she said, laughing.

I really hate it when actors I have sympathies for and who I consider talented are in movies that aren't that well received. Although I've never seen the FF cast cast as enthusiastic about their roles as Andrew Garfield was about being Spider-Man...

She deserves better. She's a good actress who deserved a better film. I know she has already been in the MCU playing a SMALL role in Iron man 2 as a US Marshall, but i'd love to see her play Milla donovan in Daredevil. She would've been a cool jessica jones

Well it's probably a good Sci-Fi Flick, but as a Fantastic Four Movie not so much. I'll definitely catch it on Blu-Ray though.

Well, in all fairness, the cast did nothing to endear themselves to the fans. Rumors of the Trank telling them NOT to read comics wasn't a good sign. Then, many of the interviews seemed to come from a place of arrogance about them making more than just a CBM. I mean that sounds good and all, but, how do you know what you're doing is better than the source if you never consulted the source. Thankfully some of the reviews said the cast's performances weren't the weak link, while others echoed the suspicions that ppl had that the cast didn't want to be there. Let's not forget Tranks Twitter rant in the earlier stages of production. The promotions up until SDCC were at the bare minimum, so, unfortunately for them, there were a number of things that attributed to their lackluster reception at the con that translated over to the release as well. You live and you learn...

Sorry it's hard for me to seriously bad mouth this woman. She's a damn good actress and fine as hell. The cast may be good, but the film itself just may be a mess

Yeah. Well uh, that's pretty sad knowing that the movie was gonna fail in the first place and nobody wants to see it because of its bad directing and these idiotic choices you know. The only attention you'll grave is an army of angry fanboys. So, I'd prepare myself for that and get the hell out of dodge when this flick comes out cause let's face it, every single one of these people's career is over because of this Fantastic Shit.

The Steelers will never leave Pittsburgh. The city has real fans, not a bunch of pole-smoking shitpiles like Cleveland. Steeler football is more of a religion than a sport in Pittsburgh.

Definitely, Kate is cool. I actually wish she got a better role in Iron Man 2

I think it would work really well if she worked for the Daily Bugle or something, to see her interview Stark and Rogers. She would have fit right in with Daredevil too, with Urich and Karen

What a great idea Kate, go walk amongst the commoners for a bit. This is starting to sound like the plot to Aladdin, except the F4 cast still have all their hands and the film is not going to end with a happy ending but rather with rioting.

I really do feel bad for these guys.

The cast has gotten just so, SO much hate over the past several months.
Shoot, Marvel Comics actually BLEW THEM UP in a Fantastic Four comic!

It really does suck for them. Even if the movie is terrible, (and I'm still pretty confident it will be) if they did the best they could to bring the director's vision to life (even if his direction is bad) then they did exactly what they were hired to: their job.
I rarely ever get angry at actor's in disappointing or bad films, because 97% of the time, it really isn't their fault.

Ease up on the hate guys, just throw it all at the film when it comes out. :P
