“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them will feature:
Director: David Yates
Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander
Katherine Waterston as Tina
Alison Sudol as Queenie
Dan Fogler as Jacob
Ezra Miller as Credence
Samantha Morton as Mary Lou
Jenn Murray as Chastity
Faith Wood-Blagrove as Modesty
Colin Farrell as Graves
Jon Voight in an undisclosed role
Gemma Chan in an undisclosed role
Carmen Ejogo in an undisclosed role
Ron Perlman as a goblin

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them hits theaters November 18

Looking forward to this, still waiting on the Dumbledore prequel :/ I swear they left out a lot of his back story so they could make a trilogy.

@CaptainAmerica - that would be cool to see his relationship with Grindelwald

@hufflepuff69, yup! I swear they purposely left out that out. There's so much to his backstory and they could even explore his sexuality if they had the guts to do it but I don't know if they would. His relationship with Grindelwald was the best part of the ending.

I can't wait for Fantastic Beasts to make a lot of money but be bashed for being a prequel trilogy to a popular franchise, that's based on only one book.

@JamesMann - there's a good prequel trilogy based on one book? If there is I haven't seen it

Big difference is that the actual writer of the books is playing a huge part of the movie. I'm in, it's at least different from the flood of comic book movies coming for the next decade

I'll be glad when the Potter craze is over, so we can get some movies based on the original bespectacled boy magician with a lightning bolt scar.

This looks promising to me, I'm surprised the pessimism here.

The Harry Potter universe is nice and all, and I've enjoyed the (first few) books and movies more than I'd imagined, but it's not really a world I feel a strong urge to revisit.

This might actually be a charming, enjoyable movie, and I do plan to watch it at some point, but it's nowhere near high on my personal anticipation list and I'm not sure I'll catch it on the big screen.

It's so awesome to live in an era where blind followers of franchises such as Harry Potter and Star Wars and Marvel and DC are so popular. Fake humans following only what they believe to be hip. So amazing the path of humanity. Beautiful times we live in where thousand year old books and blind followers still exist. Just a beautiful species humanity is. Soon..... very very soon.
