KING KONG Is Moving To Warner Bros. To Battle GODZILLA

The clash of the classic creatures is officially on! Apparently Legendary is bringing its Kong: Skull Island movie to Warner Bros. in a move that will eventually result in a new cinematic scrap.

We heard a few rumblings of this last year, but Deadline has now confirmed that King Kong will take on Godzilla in a monster mash-up movie from both Legendary and Warner Bros... eventually!

The plan is for Legendary to release their upcoming King Kong: Skull Island flick - which still doesn't have an official title apparently - through WB, who will move forward with their sequel to Gareth Edwards' Godzilla reboot, and then the next film after that would combine the characters for what will surely be an epic brawl. So although it might be quite some time before we see that movie, Deadline does stress that things are moving "very quickly".

Obviously we've seen these two mighty monsters fight before in 1962's King Kong VS. Godzilla, but that was a couple of guys in rubber suits - how exactly is it going to work with these new incarnations when one is supposed to be about 20 times the size of the other?

Is it the same Godzilla? Is he going to be the same size as last year and like 8X bigger than King Kong??

[frick] that. Do you know how big they'd have to make King Kong in order for him to stand a chance?

It'll be very interesting to see King Kong, an ape who can die just from a fall off of the Empire State Building go up against Godzilla, who survived a bomb attack.

But, I guess they'll [frick] up the source material if they can't find a way to make it work.

They have to size down godzilla but i'm game.

Does anyone know what this means for the overall list of monsters they have? Does WB have Rodan or the rest?

Let me also add that King Kong died from bullets, too; something that is like rain to Godzilla.

Maybe after Godzilla 2 he becomes too powerful and despite his (somewhat) good intentions just needs to be put down so a team goes to Skull Island to grab King Kong and send him in to rid the world of Godzilla.

Godzilla stomps. He's taller than most buildings, while Kong is only as big as a theater stage.

How on Earth do they plan to make this work? King Kong is puny as hell compared to Godzilla, and got his ass shot off a building. Godzilla'd probably be able to kill him with a single stomp to be honest.

Damn, I've never seen the movie... but don't know how this'll work out though, I mean King Kong is too small, and I'm pretty sure he isn't nuclear fire-proof.

King Kong is, most likely, not gonna build or have a suit of armor that is bullet proof.

They're going to have to give Kong a huge ass buff or nerf the heck out of Godzilla!

Wait, is King Kong a radiation creature? Because that's the premise set out in Godzilla...

But, there is no solution when only problems are brought up; I'll pitch a solution. Make the movie set after King Kong's death, which is probably inevitable, and make him become exposed to something that will act as a growth hormone.
