Kate Beckinsale's fifth adventure as the Vampire Death Dealer Selene will be titled Underworld: Blood Wars

Co-producers Screen Gems & Lakeshore Entertainment made the announcement earlier today on the film's official Facebook page. Anna Foerster (Outlander) directed the feature, which wrapped principal photography earlier this year, with a script from Cory Goodman (The Last Witch Hunter). Joining Beckinsale are Theo James, who reprises his role from the previous installment, Tobias Menzies (Outlander), Lara Pulver (Edge Of Tomorrow), Charles Dance (Game Of Thrones), Bradley James (iZombie), James Faulkner (Da Vinci's Demons), Oliver Stark (Into The Badlands), Peter Andersson (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit), Clementine Nicholson, and Daisy Head (The Syndicate).

The film will arrive in theaters just in time for Halloween on October 14, a week ahead of the Tom Cruise-starrer Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. There are also a few early rumors circulating that suggest a sixth film with Beckinsale is already being planned.

Check out the official title card below:

@Menks123 - Excellent choice dude. Loved them both in Pearl Harbor.

@McU - Really think that she should be their top choice, it's just one of those castings that make so much sense in my eyes. She'd most likely be the best Catwoman on screen. Phiefer was good, but god was Hathaway totally miscast. Kate has the look, the on screen charisma and has been a love interest to Affleck before like you said. Even though that movie was.....mediocre, the cast was great.

@Menks123 - I totally agree with you on this. She is perfect. But I don't think Catwoman would pop up in Ben Affleck's Batman. They need a big hit so they would probably go with the Red Hood storyline.

@McU - I think Catwoman is a necessity in any Batman movie. I think they should have her appear in the movie if they go the Red Hood story, but maybe save more of her for a sequel. I want a trilogy with an actual Batman from the comics (with less killing). Not hating on Nolan at all, great movies but to me just weren't what I want from Batman in a universe where there's Superman, magic, gods, etc.

@Menks123 - I would like to see Ben Affleck's version of Catwoman (Kate Beckinsale) more than Snyder's version of Barbara Gordon (Jena Malone) which got cut from the film.

@McU - Yeah Catwoman really is a cool badass character in Batman's universe. People forget that with Affleck directing, he does women characters really well too. In The Town and Gone Baby Gone, so he would most definitely do her justice. Not to say Snyder doesn't though, people may not like him but he always has amazing strong women leads and supports in all of his movies.

@Menks123 - Loved every movie he directed so far. Liked him in BVS. Will surely love his Batflick. Jared Leto & Margot Robbie are pretty much confirmed to appear. Now he should just cast a cool Robin & awesome Cat. Can't wait.

@McU - Yeah perfect cast so far. I want a Robin, but am hesitant because I fricking hate young actors if they go for a Damian aged one lol. Give me at least Nightwing and i'll be happy (jk even with an annoying Damian Robin, i'll still be happy!).

@Menks123 - If they go with Under the Hood storyline they would probably need two young actors. One as Nightwing (Dick Grayson) & other as Redhood/Robin (Jason Todd). They won't go with Damian as first they will have to introduce League of Assassins, Talia Ghul. I heard Daniel Radcliffe was pretty interested in playing the Batman's sidekick. Wonder what happened to that?

Menks123 - 4/12/2016, 6:24 PM
@McU - I can see that....Dick doesn't need to be too young, mid 20s-early 30s. I was thinking Jared Padelincki (Spelling?) from Supernatural.

McU - 4/12/2016, 6:34 PM
@Menks123 - I don't watch Supernatural nowadays. (Damn it's S11). Too long for me. But Jared Padalecki seems to be a good choice. He has starred in some pretty bad slasher flicks (House of Wax, Friday the 13th) but I think he is one of the better actors in his 30s.

Menks123 - 4/12/2016, 6:39 PM
@McU - Yeah.....the only CW show I enjoy and the two leads are really good, deserve better recognition. But he would compliment Affleck very well.....and to the general audience, idk if they can handle seeing Harry Potter running around kicking ass lmao. I personally wouldn't mind, but I can see that effecting how he is perceived.

McU - 4/12/2016, 7:25 PM
@Menks123 - I have been going through a lot of fan castings during the last hour & to be surprised only few of them mentioned are now cast into the DCEU (Margot Robbie). Ezra Miller as The Flash is particularly shocking as he was totally unknown to any DC fan cast predictions. So Kate Beckinsale cast as Catwoman depends totally on her former co-star Ben Affleck. Fingers crossed I want this to happen.!!!

@McU - Same! I've been thinking of doing some fancasts for unannounced casted movies......maybe i'll finally do it!
