The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Is Back In First TV Spots For Paul Feig's GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot

We already know that the all-new Ghostbusters will fight their own logo, but the first TV spots have revealed that they'll square off with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man too. While you can understand why Sony would want to bring back some familiar elements, it's getting kind of weird to see how much this reboot is borrowing from the originals, especially when it was supposed to be something new.

Directed by Paul Feig, this new movie will focus on Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), and Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon), along with Chris Hemsworth (as the team’s secretary), Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, and Neil Casey as the reboot’s lead villain. Ghostbusters is currently set to be released on July 22nd, so stay tuned.

As someone who found the original Ghostbusters as just okay; a funny solid film, THIS DOES NOT LOOK FUNNY AT ALL.

I'm speaking from strictly a comedic standpoint. These women have been funny in other films. THEY ARE FUNNY (well everyone except McCarthy). But here, it's just eh.

The material in these spots and trailers feels DERIVATIVE and UNISNPIRED.
