2nd Wolfman Trailer Shows More of Monster

A second and more monster focused trailer has appeared for The Wolfman movie -- coming out in February.
Why isn't this coming out now, you ask? October IS the month of Halloween. Well, rumor has it that the first edit of the movie was less than stellar, specifically, the wolfman himself wasn't up to par. So, they took it back to the CGI guys and had them do their magic.

Must be why this trailer shows a bit more werewolf than the one before. Looks good to me, but you be the judge.

Nice, but whats the hold up with this coming out already
Swiftsword777 - 10/21/2009, 11:41 AM
Meh. The legend already came to life back in the [frick]ing 1940s with the Lon Chaney movie..and that didn't use cgi ad nauseum. I really don't think much of the special effects in this..far too cartoony. It still looks good otherwise though, excellent cast.
Rorschach01 - 10/21/2009, 11:42 AM
I'm excited about this one. Great effects, solid story and a stellar cast :)
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 11:42 AM
Looks great to me and lets face it nothing will beat the transformation in American Werewolf in London ! :)

Ror @ i love the lon chaney wolfman i own it too but the thing that always made me laugh was how even if he undressed or had a suite on as soon as he became the wolfman he would have the same dark shirt and grey trousers on lol :P
teabag - 10/21/2009, 11:45 AM
haha, ah yes, well I don't think swinging werewolf dong was very fashionable in the 40s.

AAWIL [frick] yeah! Still the greatest transformation in movie history, and not a cartoon in sight...

Rorschach01 - 10/21/2009, 11:50 AM
ROR@ oh yeah....the bit where he stairs at the screen always gave me chills :)

The other Wolfman thats iconic to me is Oliver Reed in Curse of the Werwolf :)
teabag - 10/21/2009, 11:55 AM
Mickey's a pervert. Just look at him smiling at the wolf dong
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 12:01 PM
I LOVE WEREWOLF STORIES!
AlexDeLarge666 - 10/21/2009, 12:08 PM
want...to...see...this...so bad! I'm glad they are coming out with a good Werewolf movie. There hasn't been one in a while. Fresh breath from the Vampire craze!
InstigatorGIRL - 10/21/2009, 12:12 PM
I loved both American Werewolf flicks - and yeah that 1st one's transformation is the best of all time.

This new flick looks fantastic though, I don't see why it wouldn't. Hopkins, Del Toro and Weaving? = success.
Keven - 10/21/2009, 12:13 PM
I was always partial to the Michael Jackson transformation in Thriller. JK. This movie better be good because Im sick and tired of all them damn vampires getting the spotlight.
Matowar - 10/21/2009, 12:13 PM
Keven@ i refuse to agknowledge the Paris one...it does not need mentioning here :(

Last good Werewolf movie was Dog Soldiers :)
teabag - 10/21/2009, 12:17 PM
wolf dong is the best. wait, what were we talking about?
superdog - 10/21/2009, 12:17 PM
I like how hopkins is in both dracula and now the wolfman.
thwhtGuardian - 10/21/2009, 12:21 PM
Dog@...Wolf Dung :)
teabag - 10/21/2009, 12:22 PM
The Howling was really good in a campy 80's way. Could have been much better with this kind of special effects. I'm looking forward to this. This kind of movie is always better as a period piece IMHO...
BubbaDude - 10/21/2009, 12:29 PM
Howling was ok...the endless sequels killed it off.....did you ever see last one they did set in the desert or something with bikers but they just edit bits from the previous movies into it lol :P
teabag - 10/21/2009, 12:36 PM
What about Nicholson in Wolf?
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 12:40 PM
Didnt like Wolf that much....bit slow and dreary to watch , i had a choice between watching that and True Lies...lucky i went with Arnie. Its a shame too cus i fricken love Werewolf movies :)
teabag - 10/21/2009, 12:43 PM
It thought it was decent enough. Remember the wolf ravaging that chick?
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 12:47 PM
Is that a title of a movie? lol
teabag - 10/21/2009, 12:50 PM
Looks amazing. Johnston's perfect for Captain America.
slimybug - 10/21/2009, 12:50 PM
@teabag: It damn well should be. . or maybe a name for a rock band
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 12:51 PM
Multi@ Cant wait for...I Still Remember the Wolf Ravaging that Chick! ..:P
teabag - 10/21/2009, 12:56 PM
Great video @ CBM!!!

Damn, this is sure to do good, looks amazing!!

Ya never know it might spark interest in a WEREWOLF BY NIGHT movie or tv show from MARVEL!!

Deff gonna watch WOLFMAN!!!
LEEE777 - 10/21/2009, 12:58 PM
First all get new glasses the effects are way cool other than your faveorite movie Batman an Robin and Rorschac01, besides The Lone ranger can take out the wolfman any day why do think there's no warewolves in Texas today?
georgia49th - 10/21/2009, 1:14 PM
Ummm. . was that supposed to be an attempt at humor?

Teabag, we need some boob pics STAT!
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 1:19 PM
How about some Azz every now and then? I like to keep Sgt. Splatter happy as much as possible!

This movie looks cool. I want it to come out already so that Johnston can focus on Cap. Seriously, Cap is coming out the same year as Thor. Brannagh has already casted like a bazillion people, and Johnston hasn't even started yet. What's going on here?
supermarioworldE - 10/21/2009, 1:24 PM
@Tbag you hear Multi Operation 808 hehehe

@ multi operation 808 is to deploy boobs
Set2Fallfirst - 10/21/2009, 1:39 PM
Looks awesome, hope the director does just a good a job with Cap.
Ryden - 10/21/2009, 1:48 PM
Wolfman and vampire movies don't do too much for me but this one looks like it could be very good.
Hawksblueyes - 10/21/2009, 1:53 PM
Multi-You want some boobage check out the John Bryne website, galleries then click the Not Safe For Work link.I would post some on here but I don,t think they would last. Some of his legendary characters with little or no clothes on.
Hawksblueyes - 10/21/2009, 1:59 PM
Wow. . teabag dropped the ball
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 2:02 PM
COOL..AN ANTHONY HOPKINS IS IN IT..HE WAS AWSOME IM BRAM STOKERS..THIS WILL BE GOOD.
GUNSMITH - 10/21/2009, 2:08 PM
808 deployed

and for Mario

:P
teabag - 10/21/2009, 2:11 PM
Can't f*cking wait for thid movie! It looks terrific!
InTylerWeTrust82 - 10/21/2009, 2:12 PM
@ Rorschach01: Thanks for the mental image of the swinging werewolf dong.

@ InstigatorGIRL: The real fresh breath is hearing a girl say that statement.
BmanHall - 10/21/2009, 2:32 PM
georgia49th...what are you talking about man?

At any rate I'm not sure about the effects rumor. It was never aimed for an October release date, as far back as I remember it was meant to be in December so pushing it back to February would hardly give the fx team time enough to redo it all, that isn't even enough time to really do any real retouching either. I suspect it was moved back so as not to compete with sherlock holmes, and february has recently become a very popular month for horror movies.
thwhtGuardian - 10/21/2009, 2:37 PM
It looks really good but the main reason that ill go and see this is to see whether Joe Johnston is a good direcor or not in preperation for Captain America!!!
joshw24 - 10/21/2009, 2:59 PM
This is going to kick soooo much ass! Then again I liked Van Helsing.
antz1104 - 10/21/2009, 3:18 PM
Jurrasic Park III had pretty good direction to me. That alone gave me faith in his directing skills.

@Tea, Nice pic, I was afraid that i might have to result to pornography. But this site always comes in handy
supermarioworldE - 10/21/2009, 3:18 PM
This is also a pretty good use of practical effects for a transformation. Its from a very good English show called Being Human..

Rorschach01 - 10/21/2009, 3:20 PM
Normally, I'd hate a show that stole the American Werewolf in London transformation wholesale...but it's such a great transformation, and the show, by itself, is top-notch...

Anyway, as for The Wolfman...I heard that they made some minor changes to the script that was leaked a while back, but if it's at least close to that version, I'll be happy.

And I'm sick and tired of waiting around for a Werewolf By Night movie...get a move on!!!
contrast - 10/21/2009, 3:28 PM
I'm going to have to check that show out ror
thwhtGuardian - 10/21/2009, 3:53 PM
great cant wait for it
but whats the song???????
HOWLER16 - 10/21/2009, 4:10 PM
2nd girl from the left!
shibazz - 10/21/2009, 4:26 PM
the second girl from the left has her merits, but I enjoy either the third or fourth girls from the right far better.
thwhtGuardian - 10/21/2009, 4:50 PM
3rd from the left looks like i could snap her....i love a challenge :)
teabag - 10/21/2009, 4:52 PM
alright i found the song
which was pretty stupid to use

HOWLER16 - 10/21/2009, 5:02 PM
stupid or not it's bad ass, who cares if it's about vampires.
thwhtGuardian - 10/21/2009, 5:09 PM
How about 'All of the above'

. . at the saaaaaame time
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 5:10 PM
Hell they have the matts there ready :)

Has anyone figured out Gerorgia's comment yet.....it has me vexed..lol :P
teabag - 10/21/2009, 5:14 PM
thwhtGuardian@ i know it's still good
its just kinda umm whats that word?
....oh well i still like it
HOWLER16 - 10/21/2009, 5:14 PM
yeah, it's a chill song for the trailer, it is weird that it's a vampire song, but maybe it was intentional.
thwhtGuardian - 10/21/2009, 5:39 PM
BEST WEREWOLF MOVIE TO DATE-AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON...NOTHING IVE SEEN YET TOPS THAT TRANSFORMATION SCENE.SOMETHING ABOUT PRACTICAL FX MAKES IT LOOK WAY MORE BELIEVABLE.
GUNSMITH - 10/21/2009, 5:44 PM
Wasn't this done in the 90's?! Oh, wait, that was Bram Strokers Dracula.
FutureFoe - 10/21/2009, 5:45 PM
@Teabag
what can you tell us of the St.Trinian movie that was released in 2007 was it any good or did they screw it up.
for those that don't know of St. Trinian it's a school for girls who are very bad and unruly........
teabag The Lone Ranger usues silver bullets an old west character and there was a graphic novel about the old west with werewolves and the Lone Ranger makes an appearance at the end killing the werewolf....
georgia49th - 10/21/2009, 5:47 PM
GINGERSNAPS-OK WEREWOLVES... SKINWALKERS-PRETTY COOL......DOG SOLDIERS-COOL BUT NOT SCARY ENUFF...JACK NICHOLSON'S WOLF-IF IT WERENT FOR THE EYES HE WOULD HAVE LOOKED TOO HUMAN,STILL SCARY THOUGH.
GUNSMITH - 10/21/2009, 5:48 PM
Georgia@ The old B&W St.Trinian Movies were good and funny.....the 2007 version is the equivelent of this...............

Avoid lol

teabag - 10/21/2009, 5:58 PM
@ror: what do u have against this movie and the cg, i know its cg, buts its not cartoony at all, it looks somewhat realistic.

o and nothing beats the best song about werewolves: werewolves of london by warren zevon....... seeing how its the only song about werewolves i know of lol
joob234 - 10/21/2009, 6:27 PM
that is a great song joob
thwhtGuardian - 10/21/2009, 6:38 PM
Great song, right up there with "Roland the Headless Tompson Gunner". Nice ref joob.
antz1104 - 10/21/2009, 6:54 PM
Well, joob, I just don't agree. I think its CGI that looks CGI! I mean whats the [frick]ing point? If prosthetics and practical effects can achieve the same thing and look more realistic then why not use them? Movies as a whole have become far too reliant on computer generated effects. Sometimes its necessary of course. I mean Gollum could really only ever have worked as CGI, Dr Manhatten would have been a hard sell as a guy painted blue, District 9 etc, but they looked good. It worked. Of course I haven't seen this movie yet but look at that trailer again and tell me that the bit where u see his eye morphing during the transformation doesn't look like Gerry just hit Tom's tail with a mallet or something.
Rorschach01 - 10/21/2009, 7:17 PM
They messed up in this trailer by showing us who the "other" werewolf is.....did anybody else see Hugo Weaving climbing up the bedside in the beginning of the trailer? FAIL!!!!!!!!
icebergslick - 10/21/2009, 7:23 PM
wtf, this trailer is awesome, looks like a good movie to me
Ship - 10/21/2009, 8:36 PM
I've been hearing about this movie for three years now, just seems too long to come out.
ASSASSIN666 - 10/21/2009, 8:46 PM
I hope they don't puss out and make this a PG-13'er
TheDurkinKnight - 10/21/2009, 8:55 PM
@iceberg: Ummm, why would that mess up the movie? We all know the bad guys in 99% of the CBMs that come out.
MultiPurposePoni - 10/21/2009, 9:05 PM
Looking very much forward to this one
Bobbo68 - 10/21/2009, 11:59 PM
@thegaurdian- you have chosen wisely... you may pass ;)
shibazz - 10/22/2009, 12:05 AM
Let's not forget Bad Moon and Dog Soldiers. Two good werewolf movies IMO.
n0rMaL - 10/22/2009, 12:33 AM
My favorite movie monster. Big fan of the Lon Chaney Jr. Wolfman films.
hewilldefytheirgravity - 10/22/2009, 12:44 AM
American Werewolf in London sucked....i am a young guy but i grew up with the old black and white movies...those will be forever the greats. The transformation was over done and looked so cheesey...and i thought that when i first saw it when i was young...now looking back at it...effin horrible IN MY OPINION...i honestly think that this actually looks like a great werewolf movie to come along in a long time. i'm sure that there will be some old school make up and whatnot and not just cgi...if not then oh well...there are some things that will just look better done cgi...somethings not...and when it comes to werewolfs...50-50 i think....well that's my opinion anyway.
TheREALHumanTorch - 10/22/2009, 3:50 AM
Hey everybody has forgotten TEEN WOLF!!!!!!!! Come on . LOL
DeathWalker - 10/22/2009, 4:27 AM
I thought the werewolves in Underworld were done well...
this movie looks good...del toro is a very under rated actor
~X
XmutantX - 10/22/2009, 4:40 AM
TheREALHumanTorch@ i dont know what to say...truley :(
teabag - 10/22/2009, 5:26 AM
I read that this movie didnt use cgi...that they used a real wolfman costume like the original...maybe thats y it looks so good..
~X
XmutantX - 10/22/2009, 5:33 AM
At least its not them damn vampires
OhMyGod - 10/22/2009, 5:46 AM
The only thing thats CGi is the transformation and im willing to give it the benefit of the doubt till i see it :)
teabag - 10/22/2009, 5:58 AM
Teabag@Wooooooooord
XmutantX - 10/22/2009, 6:06 AM
I think this flick looks stellar! I am SO looking forward to seeing some of Johnston's work! Woot!
DarthMulder - 10/22/2009, 6:42 AM
Rick Baker was the man.
SirPrize - 10/22/2009, 7:36 AM
Thank god Rick Baker is the FX guy on this then :)
teabag - 10/22/2009, 8:12 AM
@iceberg--unless they've drastically changed something from the leaked version of the script...I doubt Weaving is the other werewolf. In fact, that character you're refering to is...

SPOILER (possibly)

A mutant gypsy that is half werewolf or something and is the child of the ACTUAL other werewolf.
contrast - 10/22/2009, 1:08 PM
what contrast said just melted my brain

DarthMulder - 10/22/2009, 2:02 PM
@multipurposeponi

very true about knowing who the bad guy is. I didn't know who the bad guy was this time though. Kind of ruined it for me, but I'm still going to see this because I love werewolf films. Awesome avatar btw!

@contrast

Very good point! I am down to see what Hugo does in this film because I am big fan.
icebergslick - 10/22/2009, 8:19 PM
@Darthmulder--you may think I'm joking, but I'm really, really not.
contrast - 10/22/2009, 8:52 PM
I love WEREWOLF FILMS, the two trailers was great.
I recomend LA LOBA ( 1965 ), a mexican film , a poetic bloody film.
