When a select handful of journalists visited the set of Justice League last week, Henry Cavill's Superman was nowhere to be seen. We know that the actor will be reprising the role of the Man of Steel in the superhero ensemble, but the method of his resurrection currently remains a mystery. Asked about the dirt on his coffin which started floating when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ended, Zack Snyder remained coy, but did hint at that being picked up on down the line: "I guess that's part of the story. If he does appear, I think that that would be a big part of the story, right?"
It's been said that when Superman does return, it will be during the latter half of the movie. but will he have a new look? Back in the 90s, the hero returned from the dead with a mullet, and when Snyder was asked if Justice League will be faithful to the source material in that respect, he laughed and said, "[His hair] should be perfect. A little longer, I guess! That's what the myths are anyway."
Whatever happens in regards to Superman's appearance, it's definitely going to be interesting seeing how he's brought back after being murdered by Doomsday. Just as intriguing is how exactly he'll regain his Clark Kent identity after an open casket funeral, though with the comic books abandoning that, it could be that this is part of the character's canon that all forms of media look set to move on from.
