Marvel Dubs Josh Keaton's Animated AVENGERS: EMH Spider-Man Stint With Drake Bell

Josh Keaton's role as Spider-Man in upcoming The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes episodes has been dubbed over by Drake Bell, who voices the character in Ultimate Spider-Man.

Through Facebook, The Spectacular Spider-Man's Josh Keaton confirmed that we has recorded episodes of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes slated to debut later this year on Disney XD, including the upcoming "Along Came A Spider." However, international airing of "Along Came A Spider" disappointingly reveal that his work has been dubbed over by Ultimate Spider-Man's Drake Bell. Bell plays Spider-Man in the latest Spidey cartoon. Keaton confirmed as such, this earlier this weekend, as seen in the image below.



To sum it up, Josh Keaton, who played Spider-Man on The Spectacular Spider-Man, reprised the role for The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and has actually recorded multiple appearances for upcoming episodes. But all of those appearances were redubbed with voice work from Ultimate Spider-Man's Drake Bell, coordinated by executives at Marvel Television. Suffice it to say, fans are outraged about the changed and are hoping to find ways to get this fixed.

this is why I don't like Drake as Spider-man, it's like marvel is trying to force his voice down our throats. Marvel is really pissing me off when it comes to cartoons now.

Wait, Drake Bell is the voice of Spider-Man on Ultimate Spider-Man, as in the guy from Drake & Josh? I had no idea.

Wow, that really sucks. I liked Josh Keaton as Spider-Man in The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon and Beenox's SM games.

Spider-Man is my second favorite superhero right after Superman. I was really looking forward to him appearing on TA:EMH. I'm not so much now.

I don't get why marvel would do something like this.
Was it in order too have some sort of connection between
Ultimate and EMH? If that were the case then why have Adrian pasdar
For ultimate and Eric loomis for EMH (iron-man)? It makes no sense josh Keaton would've
Killed it. I would've personally preferred Chrostopher Daniel Barnes but josh is a great choice as well bad move for marvel on this part

everything to be said has already been said but i still have to throw in that this sucks big time. it's like loeb having his fb page taken down wasn't even noticed.

it would also suck if avengers didn't get cancelled but somehow became a sister show to ultimate spider-man (inheriting their terrible, terrible characterization and plotlines of course) - don't you do it marvel!

I not even gonna watch "Along came a spider" I'll just skip it until I hear the right version. but hears the good part, J.K. simmons and Grey Delisle reprised their roles as JJJ and Betty Brant.

I'm not upset about this, but it's too bad they had Josh Keaton waste his time like that. But, the thing I don't get is that the Avengers EMH universe is separate from the Ultimate Spider-Man universe (at least I think it is), so why would Marvel want to use the same voice? And on a side note, "Along Came a Spider" is the title of X-Men #35, Spidey's second guest appearance.

Ultimate Spider-Man is the worst [frick]ing superhero cartoon ever and it has a lot to do with the fact that Drake is the worst voice actor of all time. (It has a lot to do with the shitty writing too, but that's neither here nor there).

Actually guys, I saw the episode and it was actually very awesome. It actually proved to me that Bells a great choice for Spidey, he just has terrible dialogue to work with in Ultimate Spider-man.

Are you kidding me Marvel?! Josh Keaton's voice was the only reason I looked very forward to those episodes! Hell when I heard Avengers is going to be a different universe from Ultimate Spider-Man, I was even more happy because that meant the return of Keaton! Just URGGGGGG.
