Courtesy of Sescoops. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige stated over the weekend that he would love to work with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and see him in a future Marvel film:

"His name has come up in the past. I`m a gigantic fan of his. I think he`s incredible. I might have met him once a long time ago, but I haven`t really met him. I don`t really know him, but I think he`s an unbelievable personality and an unbelievable sort of force of nature."

"He was great in `G.I. Joe`. He`s really kind of an amazing human being. His Twitter`s always cool and he promotes the hell out of everything he does."

"I would love him to be part of the Marvel universe somewhere, someday."

Over a year ago, when talking about superheroes, Dwayne Johnson had this to say on Twitter:

"I would love to play Luke Cage. Love that superhero. I'd crush it."

What do you think?

Is The Rock a great fit for the Hero for Hire known once called Power Man?

Or even perhaps any other Marvel superheroes like Black Panther, Deathlok, Goliath, or maybe even Bishop from the X-Men?

I could see him playing a villain, maybe The Executioner.

DC/WB, if miss out on casting him as Black Adam, or to a lesson extent the new Sinestro, well I think we all know what will be said.

He'd be an awesome MARVEL Hercules, but unfortunately he became Hercules in another terrifying project, which -unlike the Marvel version- is a total rape of historic facts and very disrespectful to the first actual superhero in human tradition...

The role should rightfully be earned and handed to a black dude.

Hold up, did someone just mention Hercules and historical facts in the same sentence? Someone here thinks Zeus is real? >;)

If he is a hero, he should be Luke Cage, and if he's a villain, he should be Kang the Conqueror.

While he's not really the right fit, his physique is perfect. I keep trying to think what else he could do, but sadly I cant think of one. Cage may be the best for that reason, but also because Cage is not that big of a name... and I feel like Black Panther would be easy marketing where as Cage would need all the exposure and help to get people coming and learning about ol Lucas.

"The role should rightfully be earned and handed to a black dude."

So, it's ok for a black guy be handed the role of a white character(Heimdall, Perry White, Kingpin, etc), but it's not ok for a half-black person be handed the role of a black character? Smack yourself, please!

Racism against blacks is still very prevalent in America, and 80% of actors in films are white. Anything we can do to even that inequality is a good thing. I definitely think its worse to cast a black character with a white actor than the other way around.

You could also argue that seeing as a large proportion of comic book characters were created in the 60s 70s and 80s, there is a disproportionate amount of white characters than that of the general population, as racism was worse in the past. Race flipping characters can help to even this imbalance.

yeah but in Hollywood to diversify= replace with a black actor. No, Hispanics or Asians are ever put in to diversify

True, its not perfect, I definitely think there is a lack of Hispanic and Asian actors as well. I was just saying that active diversification is a good thing.
