Who I Think Should Play The Avengers

Who I Think Should Play The Avengers

Self-explanatory, but this is simply my fan favorites to play the Marvel Super Team (or in Kevin Feige's mind, the Marvel Super Squad). I will also post a Green Lantern fan cast eventually as a "sequel" to this article. And more fan casts will come after that.

Well, this is my first article, so bear with any newb mistakes. And I'm sorry, but I won't be posting pictures of the actors/actresses next to their comic book counterparts. I'll just post a picture of the actual person.

First off, the big one. The First Avenger. The Leader. The Red, White, and Blue one himself, Captain America! Now, my pick for Cap is shared by many other members on this site. Some of you may groan when you see his name suggested for a comic book role, let alone Captain America. But he is the man for the role. IMO. His role as Dean Winchester on the underrated gem of a show "Supernatural" has proven he is more than capable of taking on Cap. When he plays serious, he IS SERIOUS. When he plays dramatic, he IS DRAMATIC. His voice is commanding and strong and he has the noble, tough look about him. Guys and gals, Jensen Ackles is Captain America!

Now, I won't waste time and space listing the actors who already have the roles. I will simply list them now.

Robert Downey, Jr. - Tony Stark/Iron Man
Chris Hemsworth - Thor
Edward Norton - Bruce Banner/The Hulk
Tom Hiddleston - Loki

Okay, continuing on. We now come to Henry Pym, or better known as Ant-Man/Giantman/Goliath/Yellowjacket. If they decide to put Pym in the Avengers (which they sure as hell should!), there are many who are able to pull it off. But there can be only one! And that man may be familiar to you guys as he starred in a little movie called "Watchmen." Maybe you have heard of it. Anyway, I give to you, Patrick Wilson as Hank Pym!

Speaking of Pym, we now come to his wife, Janet/The Wasp. I'm still not entirely sure who would be my ideal choice, so I'll go with the fan favorite at this point, Eva Longoria.

Next, we have Clinton Francis Barton/Hawkeye. Here is a cool, laid back, bad ass marksman who doesn't have superpowers. This was fairly easy to cast as the actor I am about to cast left such an impression on me after the blockbuster that was "Star Trek." I'm pretty sure you can guess who I'm thinking of, but for those who can't guess, here it is....Chris Pine as Hawkeye!

You still here? Well alright! Up next is a lesser known Avenger, but he is still an Avenger. I am talking about Victor Shade/Vision. I really can only think of one actor who could pull it off. I'm sure there are more. His starring role on "Prison Break" may make some of you recognize him, but here he is. Wentworth Miller as Vision!

As for this next character, I found this actor suggested on another site's forums. And when I saw his name, I heard in my head "Spot on." And it really is a spot on casting. The character is Namor the Sub-Mariner. The actor you may recognize from last year's "Best film that no one saw", "Hellboy 2:The Golden Army" as the villain Prince Nuada. I give you, Luke Goss as Namor!

Our next Avenger is a somewhat tricky one to cast, but ultimately, when I decided whom to cast, it seemed much easier than I had thought. The Avenger known as Moon Knight is the one who I am speaking of. Mainly, I am casting MK from a voice standpoint, but the actor would also be fine as the one in the costume as well as the voice. Don't tear me apart if you think he isn't right for the costume. His voice is strong but can also be slightly modified in the studio to give it that extra MK feel. And he also played the Comedian in "Watchmen" but that isn't a big deal, right? Here is Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Moon Knight!

And you may notice I am skipping some Avengers, but I am pretty much putting the ones which I think are the most popular and the ones which have the biggest shot at making it into some film some day.

I'll say who this character is right off the bat: Black Panther. There has been several stories about BP lately from fan casts to actual movie news. Almost all of the Black Panther suggestions have been great. The fan favorite seems to be Djimon Hounsou, but I personally think he is a bit too old to be BP. I think it should be........Idris Elba as Black Panther!

The next one is a little ehh for me. The character is Luke Cage and it's not so easy to find a person who is a huge ripped dude but can also act. The actor I am casting as Cage has mainly done comedies like "White Chicks." (No, he's not a Wayans brother), He made me laugh all the time when he was on screen. So here is Terry Crews as Luke Cage!

Damn, I'm getting pretty winded from all this typing. Anywhoo, on to the next character: Doctor Strange. I am going to be straight with you, there is absolutely only one man who could play this role to it's full potential. He is one of my favorite actors and I know he would stand out as Dr. Strange. Ladies and gentlemen, Liam Neeson IS Doctor Strange!

The next character, Iron Fist, will be fairly quick and short. This actor is a star on "Sons of Anarchy," and was a contender for the role of Thor. I believe he would be fairly good as Iron Fist So here he is: Charlie Hunnam as Iron Fist!

I think this will be my last casting, as I think I've given plenty. But Quicksilver A.K.A Pietro Lensherr wasn't very hard to cast. This young actor fits Quicksilver very well IMO, just cut the long hair, dye it silver, and he'd be Pietro. Well, enough babbling. Here he is, another "Supernatural" graduate, Jared Padalecki as Quicksilver!

Okay, well there you have it! Sound off what you think of my suggestions, and whom you would like to see play some of the characters I listed. Thanks for reading!

And I know I made a mistake when I was saying I won't list the actors who already were casted. I meant I won't put pictures of them and write little blurbs about each one of them. A noob mistake I know.

Jensen Ackles is perfect.
Patrick Wilson would do good.
Eva Longoria bores me. Shaman's choice of Lexa Doig is better. lol.
Chris Pine, is Hawkeye. Perfect.
I don't know much about Wentworth Miller. But I'll give it to you.
Luke Goss is an amazing choice. I would've never thought of it myself.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, also a good choice. You forgot to mention he was on "Supernatural" as well. Also consider Simon Baker for the part. I think he could nail it.
Idris Elba. I have no idea who he is. But, he looks very....American? Do you get what I mean? I think Sammie Rotibi is a better fit for a young Black Panther.
Terry Crews. I won't rag, cuz I know your new. But dear god no, please....May I suggest Shemar Moore?
Liam Neeson is a great actor, and would blow Dr. Strange out of the water. But, consider Pierce Brosnan!
Charlie Hunman, is an amazing choice. I'm glad you brought that to everyones attention. Amazing.
Jared Padalecki. I'm not feeling this one. He doesn't have that I'm smarter than you, I'm really fast, I'm kinda a jerk attitude that Quicksilver should possess. He's too friendly guy next door who helps your mom carry in the groceries kinda guy. Know what I'm saying?

All around, amazing cast man. Good first job. Hope I didn't critique too hard.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. I really didn't know who to pick for Wasp, so I chose the frontrunner for it. I'm sure there are other actresses who would do better, but I can't think of one at the moment. Miller is actually a fine actor but I don't expect many to know much about him. Yeah, Luke Goss would be great, I was just kinda dumbfounded when I saw his name suggested ands I was like "Duh." lol. Simon Baker is a good choice, I like his sorta calm voice and I think he could fit MK quite nicely, but I still stand by JDM, he's one of my fav. actors.

I get what you mean with Elba looking too American. That's a very valid and good point. But he is a rather great actor, and I think I prioritize that the most. Terry Crews, yeah I deserve some ragging, but I wasn't the first to suggest him for Cage, and I really can't think of anyone else who could be him, and at least I didn't suggest Tyrese Gibson lol. I dunno about Shemar, never even heard of himm, but I might look him up. Pierce Brosnan, huh? Not bad, never really liked him as an actor that much but he wouldn't do very bad. For Padalecki, I don't know, maybe it's cuz I'm a Supernatural junkie, I just see him doing quite well as Pietro. I can understand the turn off though. I totally know what you mean when you say he's the friendly neighbor guy, but there are absolutely no other actors that come to my mind when I'm thinking of QS.

Thanks for the detailed review. I appreciate it. Glad you liked my cast.

jason lewis - captain america
simon pegg - ant man
eva longoria is good
orlando bloom for hawkeye!
i could see wentworth for vision
since i cant think of anyone for namor, luke goss is fine
clive owen is moon knight all the way!
that guy from 'lost' would be a good panther
dwayne johnson for luke cage
liam neeson would be a swell doctor, and so would hugh laurie
ray park was already cast for iron fist, and he is absolutely perfect
james marsters for quicksilver

Thanks brycied.

But, I gotta disagree with you on some of your choices. I won't get into a heated debate on Lewis because that would just be pointless because I just hate him lol. Simon Pegg, not bad, but I think Wilson would be more convincing as the super intelligent scientist guy. Bloom as Hawkeye? Sorry, but nooooooooo. The guy can't act his way out of a paper bag, and he wouldn't be able to bring that cocky swagger Pine would IMO. Clive Owen, gotta admit, that is excellent casting. I can't lie. Just excellent, but I would prefer him as more of a villain type role, maybe Dr. Doom? Maybe. He'd be better than Julian McMahon right? The Rock, I guess so but not really feeling it. He's much more Black Adam. Hugh Laurie is also an excellent choice.

I didn' think Park was actually casted as IF. I thought he was in talks. Oh damn. And James Marsters I see more as Bullseye than Quicksilver. But thanks for the compliment, you have a good cast as well.
Joslezio85
Joslezio85 - 7/28/2009, 1:19 AM
I'm pretty sure he actually was cast as Iron Fist but than it fell through. So I hope that it's not the case anymore because he wouldn't be perfect. Danny Rand is this handsome suave, cocky guy. and Ray Park, is an ugly dude who can't speak well. So yeah, no... I don't mind Orlando Bloom, but he should never be anywhere near comic book movies period. I actually think James Marsters would play a good Quicksilver. I actually casted him and Luke Goss both as Quicksilver. Oh, and if not Luke Goss for Namor, check out Hugo Weaving. I think he's an amazing choice.

Since Hugo Weaving doesn't have the build for Namor, i'd say Goss is the most perfect choice for Namor i've ever heard! Great casting there!!! You totally had me at Ackles, of course he is the very best choice for Cap! And the rest of your cast is decent. Not stellar, but nothing i'd be against per say.

SweetJustice: Im glad to see its not just my fan casts that you insult the author on - just accept it man...you're a [frick]ing asshole!

InTylerWeTrust82: i really like most of your picks! especially Terry Crews as Luke Cage! the guy is an amazing actor and would be a great Cage! The only two im not a big fan of is Pym and Strange - i would prefer to see Micheal Rapaport as Pym and Hugh Laurie as Dr Strange. still, you're two picks for those roles are still good choices and id be happy to see either of them! great casting of one of my fave actors ever, Wentworth Miller as well! Oh and of course - Jensen Ackles for Cap!!

sweetjustice, really? you're going to call me gay for choosing ackles? aren't you the one who is rooting for a male model who spends his time on Sex and the City and also is always at least half naked marketing fancy chocolates and lying in bed with a bottle of vodka? yeah, I sure am the gay one. oh and I can't fully understand what you're saying sometimes. maybe you should take Jason Lewis's **** outta your mouth. then I might be able to understand you better but you're still a retard so I dont know.

I hate to say this, but I ve been following this ongoing debate for weeks now and I dont believe anyone has found a descent CAP. All these choices are ok but they just dont quite nail it.Lewis is too pretty for CAP Ackles too much of a boyish face. Cap is the man EVERYONE in the marvel comics world respects, looks up to, turns to for answers, and would follow into Hell, I dont believe anyone has cast him properly yet and it will prolly be a relatively unknown that gets the part. Just my opinion and I could be wrong
Wadey09
Wadey09 - 7/28/2009, 4:22 PM
Patrick Wilson is an interesting choice. He is a great actor who loves to vary his roles. It would be intriguing to see him play an abusive egotistical jerk.
I would probably prefer Camilla Belle as Wasp even though she is a little young, she has that "Dont Mess With Me" vibe that Jan gets after a while. For Further reference watch Push.
Luke Goss would be awesome as Namor.
Miller's work in the movie Stealth has me sold that he could be Vision as long as he doesn't wear that high collar.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan can portray an extremely muddled morality just like Moon Knight but I would not stick Moon Knight in Avengers. He is too mature for the little kids who would see Avengers.
Not entirely sold on Elba but Crews could make for a very cool Luke Cage as long as he keeps a leesh on the cornball comedy. Watch Click and you will get my point.
Liam Neeson as Doc Strange would be the perfect choice and Hunnam as Iron Fist could possibly be some of the best casting as long as he can do cocky.
Jared I am not sure of. I need to see him in a major hit that reveals if he can be a rounded actor before I consider him for the role of Pietro Maximoff.
This has shown me some casting choices from the odd to freakin' awesome. Nice work!
Joslezio85
Joslezio85 - 7/28/2009, 6:32 PM
yeah. bu he wouldn't wear the mask all of the time, and he still can't talk right. So they'd have to dumb him down, give him that "bane" effect like they did in batman and robin....which sucked the balls by the way.

Hey guys, little update for ya. I was writing my Green Lantern fan cast and nearly finished it, but I accidentaly deleted it. Mother [frick]er. But I am going to resume writing it and I should have it up soon so you can look forward to that. I might even like it more than this Avengers one. I'll give you one of my castings: Ryan Reynolds is Hal Jordan. I hope you guys check it out.

Lee, honestly, I don't know why that keeps happening. It happened to my green lantern cast except all of them were gone. Maybe it's because the only one I didn't upload onto here is the Ackles one. I got that one off of photobucket.
