Okay so like many of you I'm sure, I was brought up watching Disney movies, I remember having an aunt that would buy me a Disney movie on VHS and after some thought I've realized, there were actually some cool characters in there.
I'm going to be adding heroes and villains into this list, so don't be confused if you see a name and think "but he's an asshole" anyway without much further ado here's my list.
Disney's Top 10
10. Ursula (The Little Mermaid 1989)
Okay you could say "Yeah shes a bitch" but looking aside from that charming trait, she's a purple skinned squid woman! and shes a witch!, for those that haven't seen The Little Mermaid (SPOILER ALERT) she makes a deal with Ariel the mermaid, she'll cast spell to turn Ariel human for three days, here's the catch though if Ariel doesn't receive a kiss from her true love she'll turn back into a mermaid and belong to Ursula forever.
Like all Disney villains this bitch is plotting and so she decides to transform herself into a human too so that she can steal Ariel's true love! Yeah we've all been there right..... why did my girlfriend run away with my grandfather.... anyway Ursula's plan goes together and she ends up taking Ariel's father King Triton's powers, his crown and his trident (I know who saw that coming) and turns herself into a huge version of herself!
But its not all bad as Ariel's true love comes to the rescue and goes through Ursula with his ship, but hey who hasn't had a love one mow down some bitch for them?

9. Scar (The Lion King 1994)
The Lion King was and remains my favorite Disney movie, and Scar scared the crap out of me as a kid. This evil lion bastard voiced by Jeremy Irons strolls around plotting against everyone, Scar is uncle to Simba our main character and brother to Mufasa, Mufasa Mufasa, the king of pride rock (basically the ghetto for the animals) oh and did I mention Mufasa was voiced by James Earl Jones yes the voice of Darth Vader.
Anyway Scar wants to be king but due to little Simba showing up he is no longer in line, so like any reasonable brother/uncle he decides to kill Mufasa and frame Simba, forcing Simba to run away and with the help of the hyenas takes over as king of pride rock, the land basically begins to wither and dry up and the whole place just turns grim.
The fact that Scar is a vicious lion sure that helps bring him into the badass list but the fact that I remembered that scene where he sinks his sharp claws into Mufasa's paws stuck with me as a child and that's why he makes the list for me, plus death via eaten alive by hyenas sorta deserves a little mention alone, oh and he caused this heart breaker of a scene!
He rocks the scar across the eye - BADASS RATING 9/10

8. Hades (Hercules 1997)
The lord of the underworld, Hades like Scar has family ties, he is the brother of Zeus and the uncle of Hercules, Hades wans to overthrow Zeus and legend has it that if he tries in eighteen years using the titans he could succeed but if Hercules is to fight, Hades will loose....... So obviously Hades has baby Hercules kidnapped and turned mortal but not all goes to plan and Hercules remains a demi-god!
With a head of hair made up of fire that changes from blue to red depending on how angry he gets and James Woods 'Car Salesman' style of speech we get a feel of Hades being an evil dealer in the underworld, making deals with people the price being.... their soul! using his two slaves Pain and Panic to do little tasks for him.
Hades even makes a deal with Hercules to safe the like of Megra Herc's love interest only to reveal that she's been Hades's slave all along!, also Hades although he doesn't die (He a god!) his dismiss from the movie comes at the hand of the eerie souls floating in the River Styx in the underworld leaving Hades to the souls he has tortured.
He's the lord of the underworld - BADASS RATING 8/10

7. Syndrome (The Incredibles 2004)
We first meet Syndrome as enthusiastic superhero sidekick wannabe Buddy, Mr. Incredible's number one fan, he's made his own gadgets and costume! (it looks like crap) Mr. Incredible basically says "Cute..... now run along" and after Buddy intervenes during rescue attempt Mr. Incredible hands Buddy over to the police......... Reminds me of the time I went to convince me and Robert Downey Jr. were meant to be together.
Now flash forward fifteen years and BOOM Syndrome, basically Buddy thought to himself "Hey if I can't be his Sidekick I'll be his..... Nemesis" Syndrome is a mad scientist he creates Robots that Mr. Incredible at first tests out (although Mr. Incredible does not know this) and he shows a lack of concern for people for example, he has a missile fired at the plane carrying Mr. Incredible's family after he learns the children are on board and he even shows a lack of concern when Mr. Incredible threatens to kill his assistant.
The fact that Syndrome created all this stuff is cool but the reason why, because of rejection just goes to show how psychopathic Buddy has become, I guess in a way there could be a little bit of Syndrome in all of us, I mean us superhero fans if we were to meet our idols and be rejected wouldn't we feel anger?
Couldn't be the hero so he became the Villain - BADASS RATING 8/10

6. Chernabog (Fantasia 1940)
Okay, now I've put Chernabog on the list purely because A. His image is terrifying making him the most freaky looking Disney character ever drawn and B. He doesn't say a word making him even more terrifying! Chernabog appeared in the 'Night on Bald Mountain' segment of Fantasia, I remember watching this movie with my dad and being so freaked out by his appearance, his part in Fantasia brings a whole new tone to the movie its crazy.
Chernabog is a huge demon based on the god of night, he emerges from the peak of Bald Mountain at night to summon his little evil demons and then throws them into the mountains fiery pit! being one of Disney's most powerful villains he is feared by all who encounter him.
Theres a great amount of mystery surrounding Chernabog and the fact that he really does represent pure evil in the Disney universe makes you wonder "Does this character show that there really is darkness everywhere, even in the Disney world?" and lets all who played Kingdom Hearts remember how much of an arse of a boss he was to beat!
I can't look at a picture of him without thinking "Seeing him in person would end my life" BADASS RATING 10/10

5. Jafar (Aladdin 1992)
Lets set our minds to Agrabah the main setting to 1992's Aladdin, Jafar the
sinister Royal Vizier to Agrabah's Sultan who desires power over Agrabah, from the start of the movie is plotting, first of he encourages a little gremlin of a man to walk into the mysterious Cave of Wonders, then stands back and watches as the cave swallows the man whole!
With his minion Iago the talking parrot constantly in his ear, this evilly scowling man has no worry about sentencing people to death, he has the palace soldiers hunt down Aladdin and then himself tricks Aladdin into going to the cave of wonders to claim the lamp of the Genie, Of course like all Disney villains when the characters see Jafar's true intentions his badass level hits the scale.
First he captures the lamp from Aladdin then he uses his first wish to become the new Sultan of Agrabah and then the second wish to become an all powerful socerer, sending Aladdin, his little monkey Abu (the true star of the show) and the magic flying carpet to the Arctic! Now every now and then a Diseny villain will transform themselves (10. Ursula) but instead of becoming a huge version of himself be becomes a huge giant Cobra!
Later using his last wish to become a Genie (he looks like a badass evil version of the Genie we all love) but this becomes his downfall as with being a genie you need to spend some time in the lamp, now how many of you can say you've done that in the space of a few days?....... Oh right.
Turning himself in a giant cobra wasn't enough he turned himself into a Genie, you never go full Genie - BADASS RATING 7/10

4. Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty 1959)
Okay now this is an interesting one, when I first saw Sleeping Beauty I'd have been three, four at the most and I always just thought that she was a wicked witch like all the others but no, this bitch is scary! look at that costume she wears! girl don't you know your head piece makes you look deranged?
She has some serious issues with the Princess Aurora, now in the movie it starts when shes not invited to the royal christening of baby Aurora, she curses the infant to prick her finger on a spindle of a spinning wheel and die" before her sixteenth birthday, so as you can tell shes a pretty classy lady apart from being the mistress of all evil!
Anyway during the royal christening this fairy (Less "hey hey hey" more Tinkerbell) uses her gift to the child to weaken the curse, this means that Aurora will only fall asleep when she pricks her finger and her true love will wake her with a kiss, so when the time comes Maleficent decides to stop any chances of a prince arriving by sending everyone to sleep and then raising a forest of thorns!, course the prince gets through all machete style so what's the next step for our hero Maleficent? TURN INTO A HUGE SCARY FRICKEN DRAGON!!!!!

3. Beast (Beauty and the Beast 1991)
Tale as old as time....
True as it can be......
BEAUTY AND THE BEASTTTTT
I remember the first time I ever watched this movie as I was forced to go to a neighbors birthday party and then forced to sit down being the only boy in the room full of annoying girls and forced to watch this movie.... I still wake up in sweats.... Now before this becomes creepy....
Beast is basically a spoiled prince who was turned into a beast by a beautiful enchantress as punishment for his selfish ways, he meets Belle a lovely young girl and eventually they fall in love, lets look at it like this... Beast has had to learn to live with being a beast hiding himself away and realizing that he did wrong.
Beast has great strength and could scare people away, but on the inside is still human and eventually thanks to Belle he learns to love again, theres a rage and torment to the character with a the body of a bear, eyebrows of an gorilla, the jaws, teeth and mane of a lion and legs and tail of a wolf, he's not exactly prince charming
Beast even allows Gaston the movies bad guy to beat him up as he's too upset to fight back when Belle leaves him, eventually standing up for himself Beast forces the villain away but Gaston being a bastard stabs Beast killing him (don't worry Gaston falls to his death lol) Belle announces her love for Beast and this transforms him back into a prince the end, though there may not be a point to this once Beast is badass either way.
He's forced to wear a suit and dance with a girl he likes, we've all been there guys BADASS RATING 8/10

2. Hercules (Hercules 1997)
BLESS MY SOUL HERC WAS ON A ROLL......
Hercules, we all know the story of the demi-god son of Zesus, but the Disney story differs from Hercules's mother giving him the deadly tasks instead showing Hercules rise to fame as a hero, picture being born and being superhumanly strong with your birthright godly powers, then imagine being kidnapped on orders of your evil uncle Hades lord of the underworld, forced to drink a formula that should turn you mortal but you don't finish the last drop making you a demi-god!
Okay so he isn't the Marvel take on Hercules but to be fair this Hercules stands for his own in his own right, this is one of the Disney movies that actually holds a scene that could be seen as scary, when Hercules faces the Hydra! he comes into town trying to prove himself as a hero and comes across the hydra, for a Disney move its an intense fight sequence and Hercules is recognized as a hero because of it.
That hydra scene alone was standout due to being one of the first digital animation scene used in a Disney movie.
He becomes a celebrity and we get a little montage of him strutting his stuff, now yes there are those that say "But he's ginger can he be trusted?" but this really is one of those Disney movies that can be enjoyed no matter what age you are, plus he gets to tap the sexiest Disney chick....... is there a law against animated stuff?
End of the day Herc's a badass!

1. Tarzan (Tarzan 1999)
Okay the all time classic tale of Tarzan, a human baby boy brought up by the apes of the jungle, Disney hit this movie spot on from the animation, the character designs to the Phil Colins soundtrack, but is Tarzan badass? Too damn right! he was raised by apes and fights dangerous animals!
Little Tarzan finds it hard growing up when he realizes he isn't like everyone else.... due to the fact that they're hairy and can all look the same and the only hair he has is on his head and well... in a few years WOAHHHHH is he going to notice some changes.
The montage scene where we see Tarzan trying to see is he is like other animals but also learning that even though he is man and not ape he can still do amazing things, Okay now out of all the Disney characters I think Tarzan is different because he is the character that really stands out and says "Im different" sure others like Hercules and Quasimodo do but Tarzans story is all about saying "I'm different I'm human".
The fight scene that takes place between Tarzan and Sabor the Leopardess is amazing, it shows brutality and how vicious the leopard is keeps you gripped eagerly awaiting the outcome, this shows Tarzan's strength as he beats and kills the Leopard! and next to the leopardess the villain of the movie is a man with a shotgun.....
Of course falling in love with Jane is nice and part of the story, sure I never questioned "So he's fallen in love with the first human woman he's met in years?" and this movie brought out a little bit of the sweet heart in us all, plus when you think about it Tarzan swinging through the vines of the tree's HE's MOTHER FLIPPING NAKED SPIDERMAN!!!
He kills a Leopard while wearing one rag away from a thong - BADASS RATING 10/10
