BadTaste.it interviewed Eric Roberts and got some interesting insights into The Dark Knight. Here's a piece of the interview:

Can you talk about your role in The Dark Knight? Is it true you're going to portray boss Salvatore Maroni?

"Yes, I'm portraying Salvatore Maroni, but director Christopher Nolan chose not to stay entirely true to the comic book version of Maroni."

Did you know Sal Maroni was portrayed by Dennis Paladino in Batman Forever?
"I didn't watch Dennis with that in mind, but now I will, so I can see the differences! I only saw BATMAN FOREVER when it first came out..."

Did you read any Batman comics before filming? Are you a Batman fan?

"I am a moderate BATMAN fan, and a moderate reader of comics.
I really liked Michael Keaton in the Batman role. I liked his dry humor and how tormented he seemed."
