Wonder Woman Stalled

With the Batman movies making a killing worldwide, and rumors of Superman Returns sequel floating around again, what about the third member of the DC Trinity? Well, according to rights holder Joel Silver, she’s sitting uncomfortably on the back burner.

IGN caught up with the producer of the Matrix trilogy, and the upcoming Speed Racer, and checked in on the progress of a Wonder Woman film; and the tidings look very bleak indeed. Silver revealed that though there has been a lot of interest in the film, it is currently stuck at the script level.

"I'm not sure if it will happen; I don't know yet,” he said of a movie for the Amazonian Princess. “I mean I have the rights to it for a while, but I just hope that one day I can find a way to make it."

Pardon me a moment, but is it just me or have we forgotten that there shouldn’t have been any script problems in the first place? Joss Whedon, champion of the female heroine, had been working on a Wonder Woman script that, no doubt, would have been awesome. And now the movie is in jeopardy because they are stuck at the script stage?

Seriously people, get down on your knees, and prepare to beg. You should never have let Joss Whedon out of your hands!
