Some of these are pretty good but it's disappointing how tasteless some of these are. And how half-assed others are (ie Supergirl compared to X-23).

I appreciate that the artist gave them all at least some different body types though I think a few are a bit more top-heavy than they should be and a few others should be toned down (my god did I just say that?) and while I do appreciate the idea of capturing the gloss of the suits, in some it goes a bit overboard (I'm looking at you Danvers and Hardy) akin to Abrams and his lens-flare

I'm calling B.S. on this guy.
I've worked in the comic world and I use photoshop for a living and I know shoddy copies when I see them.

He's swiping, painting over photos of actresses, and reusing the same photos multiple times. This isn't illustration.

Yes they are.

A sure way to tell is that the artwork style itself is not only inconsistent from piece to piece, but even in the actual artwork itself.

This rarely ever would happen.

It goes from loose to tight. The loose is usually the Photoshop work over the actual photo, which is usually the tight part of the piece.

So look at the artwork for Super girl's face, then look at the work for the rest of her outfit. Notice the difference?

Superfine face art, but extremely loose body art?
Yeah...that's a pic under a layer.

Plus I've seen just about all of this work done by other artists because it's all just too familiar, and the ones I haven't seen before I'd bet money are also swiped/copies which the character switched or repaints over photos.

Yeah it's a bit tricky. I can see how it can get a lot of people fooled. With the software out there right now you can do a lot with a photo to make it look like it's new art.

Provided no one ever finds the photo, of course. ;-)

In the past I've had my own original worked swiped, and published in one of the most popular comics out there right now.

I actually tried to get some work in that book but it never happened so you can imagine how it felt to see another artist (who does paid work for DC while I toil working with independent creators who never have any money at all but tons of honesty at least) go in and indisputably replicate the exact same situation, composition, but merely switch the character and the horizontal image direction and have it published there.

It's not a good feeling.

I called him on it, he just said 'coincidence bro'.
At the end of the day, what can you do?

I just don't like when people do this sort of thing because it cheats the audience and the artists.
