Idris Elba Finds The Perfect Way To Tease THE DARK TOWER Movie On Father's Day

The long delayed big screen adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower is finally happening with Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, and now the former has unveiled a very cool teaser for the movie...

We still know very little about what to expect from The Dark Tower. Some set photos offered up a first look at Idris Elba as The Gunslinger, but the movie doesn't appear to be adapting the first novel. Instead, it seems like it will borrow most of its story and characters from The Wolves of Calla, but with no sign of Eddie and Susannah, it's becoming hard to figure out what exactly they're doing here.

Whatever the answer may be, the fact that the adaptation is happening is very good news, as is Idris Elba playing Roland Deschain. Matthew McConaughey meanwhile takes on the role of the villainous Man in Black, and those two will be joined by Jackie Earle Haley, Fran Kranz, Kathryn Winnick, and Abby Lee. As you can see below, Elba has unveiled a new teaser today, and well, it's one for the fans!

Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, The Dark Tower is currently set to be released on February 17th, next year.

This is the movie that has the most potential to go either way. With the cast, it seems like it would be incredible. But, with the source material being used the way it is, and a director that I'm uncertain of, it could be terrible. I just finished the first book, so I'm praying it's good!

@SmellofDuty - McConaughey has been on a role when it comes to the work he's been doing since he won his Oscar. I'd hope, he believes in this film for him to have joined it.

He's gone through years of flops and I think he's more careful with his choice of roles now.

I've read the books and loved them. King is "producing" so that's good too.

@SmellofDuty - And the director's last movie, Royal Affair, was apparently really good. If you had to worry about something, it should be the fact that Akiva Goldsman is the main writer/producer.
