Here we have another look at Luc Besson's Valerian, (or, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets to give it its full title) which is based on French science-fiction comic “Valérian and Laureline” from author Pierre Christin and illustrator Jean-Claude Mézières.

The image features Valerian himself (Dane DeHaan), seemingly about to take flight in a spacecraft of some description. The Valerian SDCC panel will take place at 1PM today in Hall H, where the first trailer is expected to debut.

Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.

Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha’s seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.

Valerian also stars John Goodman, Ethan Hawke, Clive Owen, Rutger Hauer and Rihanna, and is set to hit theaters on July 21, 2017.

I don't expect the story of Luc Besson's Valerian to be particularly involving, though I do expect it to be visually breathtaking, which tends to be the case with most of his productions.

I wish they would have dared something different with the suit, not a black, dark knight looking suit.
I doesn't look necessarily bad.... just, somewhat generic.
I was hoping for something stylishly different.
