The Gunslinger Is Reunited With Jake Chambers On The New York Set Of THE DARK TOWER

More photos from the set of The Dark Tower have been revealed, and as well as offering up a first look at Jake Chambers, we get to see what appears to be a New York City from an alternate reality...

The more we see from The Dark Tower, the more it appears to be a sequel to the Stephen King penned series of novels rather than an adaptation. Further evidence pointing to that being the case are the set photos below which come our way courtesy of Birth.Movies.Death (more can be found by heading on over to the site) as we see what appears to be a reunion between Roland Deschain and Jake Chambers.

In fact, the person who took these photos for the site reveals that PAs were calling this the "First Meet", and based on the blue taxis and present day setting, this seems to be a different Earth to the ones visited by Roland during his previous - and now forgotten - adventures. Is the Horn of Eld in that gunna bag? Time will tell, but The Dark Tower now looks to be one of 2017's most exciting releases.

Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, The Dark Tower is currently set to be released on February 17th, next year.

Can´t wait to see Winnick in this movie (at least in some pics for now). Love her, she should have been Captain Marvel.

Should really get around to reading the books. It's not like I don't have time.

I do have time, but I'm rereading Harry Potter.

That's what Summer is for.

I can't believe they're going to skip over so much good stuff from the books, especially The Waste Lands and Wizard and Glass.

@soberchimera - Looks like it could be a slightly different story,in fact a sequel, if he has the horn of eld.

@soberchimera - So, the Ka-tet, will presumably see all the main locations, Lud and the Calla too.

@soberchimera - Considering that The Wastelands takes place after first book and Wizard and Glass is a prequel, I see no reason why they would need to skip those.

However, this series is going to be nothing like the books, I've accepted that and decided not to get excited until I see a reason to.

Inwould recommend any fan of the books to do the same.

Looks like a sequel, after all. The setting and the circumstances are too different from the storyline to be just a bad adaptaton. Interest intesifies.

I really hope he has the horn of eld in that bag.

I'm reading the third book right now, and I feel like I've just been spoiled.

@Battabing - You are kinda not. Just don't open any other Dark Towe news, and when you'll have finished THE VERY LAST PAGE of the 7th book, you'll understand everything, as of now, just don't read anything about it ;)

I finished the final book today and have very mixed feelings on that ending, so if this is a sequel showing Roland's "Last Time Around", I can live with that!

@JoshWilding - I believe King warned in the book that the 'hot chocolate' ending was a forced hand kind of thing.
I can understand the freedom that they might enjoy with the last time around bit, but King should've just stuck to the source and made his version of the LoTR
