A third (and possibly final) trailer for Justin Lin's Star Trek Beyond has been released, giving us a much better idea of what to expect when Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise continue their exploration of the final frontier next month. The action is set to Rihanna's latest single, "Sledhehammer".

After stopping off at Starbase Earhart, a remote outpost on the fringes of Federation space, the USS Enterprise, halfway into their five-year mission, is destroyed by a powerful, unstoppable wave of unknown aliens. With the crew stranded on a unknown planet and with no apparent means of rescue, they find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy who has a well-earned hatred of the Federation and what it stands for.

Star Trek Beyond reunites Jon Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin, with Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella, Lydia Wilson, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Joe Taslim joining the cast.

The movie hits theaters on 22nd July, 2016.

I just hope they make Pine's Kirk competent this time. The OG Kirk as played by Shatner was smart and clever. Pine was never written like that in these and seemed to be the Captain more out of luck then anything. I'll check this out but they better fix that in this one. This will also be hard to watch knowing what happened. R.I.P Anton Yelchin

@Buckster10 - The only thing is, they may not, considering old Spock and Nero changed the entire timeline since the first new movie. Heck Kirk's dad died because the timeline was screwed up, so Kirk didn't even have the same childhood. That line about "being yourself" might mean he'll act a little differently though so maybe your right.

I wonder if this movie will have effect similar to what makes Furious 7 a big box office hit eventhough Anton Yelchin wasn't as well known as Paul Walker.

@Shanksman - Probably not since this is the third movie . Should do better B.O wise than the second .

@MagnusShadowX - But Furious 7 is the seventh movie lol. But yeah I think it would do better box office than the second one too because of Anton Yelchin's passing.

@Shanksman - I don't think so tbh. Paul Walker was really the star of the FF series, arguably more than Vin. So many people grew up with that first one and the whole series like myself. Anton was personally one of my favorite actors working today, but he was still relatively unknown not being able to get his big break which he deserved so much.

@Shanksman - it think the fact that Paul was actually doing something to promote he movie and how he died certainly played a factor , including the new story line with the Rock and Staham all added that extra boost . No doubt we will get the in memorandum for him .

I guess I'm stuck with this crappy mobile site where I have to squint to read the comments and see blurry thumbnails with bad resolution.
