2nd STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY Movie Said To Focus On The Conflict Between 'Han Solo' & 'Boba Fett'

It's not the first time we've heard that the 2018 Star Wars Anthology movie might feature both Han Solo and Boba Fett, but a new rumor suggests that their pre-A New Hope beef will be the focus, and that the likes of Lando Calrissian and Bossk could also appear.

The still untitled second Star Wars Anthology movie (which recently lost its director Josh Trank) has been rumored to feature the bounty Hunter Boba Fett for a while now, though Han Solo's name has been mentioned almost as much. In fact, several outlets have reported hearing that both characters will somehow be involved, but now The Schmoes Know gang have added a few very interesting details.

According to their sources the movie will actually focus on the conflict between Solo and Fett in the build-up to the events of A New Hope, and will feature appearances from more fan-favourite characters like Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and Bossk. Apparently this movie will be heavily influenced by the old-school Westerns, and delve into the “hive of scum and villainy” we were first introduced to in Mos Eisely Space Port.

They also hear that since Josh Trank left the project both Jon Faverau and Matthew Vaughn are now circling the director's chair. Plus, have a few details on the third Anthology movie, which is said to be “mythological and spiritual” based, and could even focus on the origins of Yoda.

A lot to take in there, and of course it's all just rumor for now, but what do you guys think? Sound good? Or would you rather these movies focused on a new set of characters?

I was hoping these would be separate but im all for the anthology series. Just don't overdue it and make a bunch of classic flicks.

These Star Wars movies have attracted some TOP-NOTCH talent. Keep this up and Star Wars might reclaim it's title of being the most beloved movie franchise of all time.

I've always been for a Boba Fett movie, but I don't like the idea of Han being it it.

Mostly because it is really hard to see anyone but Harrison Ford in that role.

Literally the only good part of this entire report is the fact that Matthew Vaughn could be involved. Otherwise, it sounds WAY too connected to the originals. This kind of thing makes the universe feel smaller, not larger, and that's the exact opposite of what spin-offs/prequels/"anthology films" should be doing.

Probably going to catch flak for this but Brandon Fraser for Han. I picture the first mummy movie style character. He could do this particular character justice.

Yoda origin? Frack yes! I'd be all over that. An origin of the jedi order could work as well

Would love to see Jon Favreau direct, with Chris Pratt as Han Solo. As much as I don't want to admit it, I can easily see Pratt playing a pre-ANH Solo. And as long as Favreau is working off of a good script, his direction is usually spot on.

My interest in Star Wars has been on an all time low for the past few years. The Episode VII trailer actually brought back some form of anticipation for the franchise.

Or, to be precise, the reaction the audience had when the trailer showed before AoU. Now I'm actually looking forward to watching the movie in a packed theater, if more for the atmosphere than the movie itself.

A Boba Fett/Han Solo prequel spin-off thingy doesn't interest me at all at this point. :/

And Im expecting they will announce Joss Whedon is the director any day now.
I bet anything he bowed out of Avengers for a chance at a Star Wars flick... and a Han Solo centric one is perfect for Whedon

I was always comfortable with the idea that Boba Fett and Han had zero history. Boba Fett was a bounty hunter and Han was his quarry. Han was a job, paid for by Jabba the Hutt.

The thought of taking those characters and telling the audience that they have a long history is lame. It makes the universe seem small.

@RandyBobandy - Understandable. Seems almost wrong to recast the classic characters. For some reason I'd be okay with this though, since it would essentially be a single flashback film, and Ford would still be playing Solo throughout the new trilogy (assuming he survives Episode VII).

Chadwick Boseman for Lando, Aaron Paul as Boba (Joe Johnston's idea of his having killed the original Fett intact), and Louis Cancelmi as Han Solo.

I want to see the 3rd film be an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie!

Have it placed between episodes III and IV
Ewan Mcgregor can still play the character too, just make him look older.
Movie can be about him getting more in touch with the force, training on Dagobah with Yoda maybe.
Supporting character or cameo from force ghost Qui-Gon Jinn.
Show his lonely life on Tatooine as Ben Kenobi and his relationship with a young Luke Skywalker.

Main villain of the movie can be Darth Maul!

Anthony Mackie as Lando.

@ retro

And? He doesn't LOOK 46. Just like 25 year ols play high schoolers all the time. At least make a sensible argument if you're going to insult someone's intelligence.

You DO realize that the new audience isn't going to care right?

Eh. That would mean no high stakes for both since we know they both survive in the end. :/
