SPOILERS: New ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Details Revealed; 'Darth Vader' To Have A Major Role
Darth Vader is going to have a much bigger role in the Gareth Edwards helmed release than expected, and will have some back-up in the form of sinister sounding Death Troopers...
While we're now going to have to wait until December 2017 for Star Wars Episode VIII, there's less than a year to go until the release of Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It's been shooting for a while, but some fresh story details have found their way online today courtesy of JoBlo.com. Needless to say, possible spoilers for the movie follow!
The site confirms that we will indeed be seeing a Stormtrooper clad all in black, and that they'll be referred to Death Troopers. They also speculate that the role Alan Tudyk is playing is a droid who works with the Rebels. He's part of the group we saw in that team shot a while back and is actually an Empire droid who has been reprogrammed to serve this group. Stating that he's a scene stealer, they go on to describe him as having, "long arms and legs and is very different than a typical protocol droid like C-3PO." We'll also see new TIE Fighter designs and an AT-AT.
Finally, they reveal that Darth Vader is indeed going to be in Rogue One, and that his role will be much larger than previously thought. So, nothing major here then, but this still sounds fantastic, don't you think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual place.
