The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Why no snout? What if when he comes back then he has evolved into a stronger strain of Lizard and he has a snout as he has become much more animal like?

Even if he kept his lab coat on the whole movie, he would have looked 5X better

The CG rat was one of the worst effects I have ever seen in a film. That was SyFy Channel bad.

I kind of liked that actor(cant remember his name) who played Dr. Connors/Lizard but The reason why they made the Lizard look like a goomba from that Super Mario Bros. movie ill never know. I wanted to see the snout and him wearing that damn lab coat.

@LEVITIKUZ None of them are "badass". And despite all that CGI Todd McFarlane's old fashioned hand drawings of the Lizard destroy every other version.

This isnt the 80's when they had to use puppets. They couldve easily done it right. But someone got the idea it enhanced the character if it looked more human. They got the wrong idea.

I thought the special effects in The Amazing Spider-Man were not the best. The Lizard looked fake most of the time and he really needs the snout. My favorite Lizard was on the New Spider-man the Animated Series which was that 3D animated one on MTV. He looked like a muscular velociraptor which is how I picture him.

@ManDeth--agreed! McFarlane's designs are by the best!

The lab coat helped IMMENSELY w the look they ended up going with.. I'll never undersatnd why they didn't keep that coat on him!

The first Lizard pic looks good, the last two look like abominations, downright terrible.

Lizard couldn't have a snout and look feral as they wouldn't have been able to emote the face properly and would look odd when talking.

It(the snout) works for a creature that doesn't talk and acts like an animal/creature but for one that talks and acts like a human being(lizard in this film was intelligent and not a mindless beast) it doesn't, hence why the didn't use it.
