Jon Favreau Is Set To Reprise IRON MAN 3 Role As Happy Hogan In SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING
It sounds like we have a pretty cool Iron Man 3 reunion to look forward to in Spider-Man: Homecoming with reports that Jon Favreau is finally returning to the MCU to play Happy Hogan.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Homecoming may be entering its third month of principal photography in and around Atlanta, Georgia, but Variety has just revealed yet another addition to the ever-growing ensemble cast; and this one’s a doozy. According to the trade source, the upcoming reboot will be reuniting Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man with his former chauffeur/ Head of Security Happy Hogan, played by Jon Favearu.
We last saw the Iron Man director’s beloved character hospitalized in Iron Man 3 while he was recovering from an explosion. Which could explain why he was missing in action during Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War. Of course, Happy could have been up and kicking with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) whose absence in both of those films got an explanation: she and Tony Stark are taking a break. Nonetheless, it will be great to see him again in Spider-Man: Homecoming, although we’re not sure what he’ll be up to.
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland in the title role, with Zendaya (Michelle), Laura Harrier (Liz Allen), Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Bokeem Woodbine, Tyne Daly, Kenneth Choi, Martin Starr, Donald Glover, Logan Marshall-Green, Hannibal Buress, Selenis Leyva, Michael Mando, Garcelle Beauvais, Abraham Attah, Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Robert Downey Jr (Tony Stark/Iron Man) and Michael Keaton (Adrian Toomes/ Vulture). The movie is scheduled for release July 7, 2017.
