Robert Downey Jr. Comments On A Possible 'Iron Man' Appearance In SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING
When it was announced that the solo Spidey flick would be known as Homecoming, fans speculated that both Cap and Iron Man would appear. Well, sounds like the latter is definitely a possibly...
Because the "Homecoming" comic book arc features both Captain America and Iron Man, ever since it was even rumored that the solo Spider-Man movie would use that subtitle there have been assumptions that both iconic heroes would pop up in the film - and it seems Jimmy Kimmel is also making that leap.
During Robert Downey Jr.'s guest spot, the host almost seemed to imply that he knew something we didn't when he said, “It’s exciting for the Spider-Man movie, Which Iron Man will be a part of.”
Now, chances are he was just leading Downey Jr. in the hopes of some confirmation - which he very nearly got. "Perhaps, I will," teased the Tony Stark actor. "I don’t have a contract yet."
It's pretty much been confirmed that Stark is the one that recruits Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War, and we know the Webhead starts out on #TeamIronMan - so it does make sense that the Armored Avenger would drop in to say hello in Spidey's solo adventure. Also, keep in mind that Kevin Feige has confirmed that we will be seeing other Marvel characters crossover into the rebooted Spider-Man universe.
Thoughts? Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017
