Rumours have been swirling this week that Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk will make his presence felt in Spider-Man: Homecoming next year, with the actor even mentioning on Twitter at one point how much he would like that to happen. However, it seems like we'll have to wait a bit longer for the first MCU/Netflix crossover as the Daredevil star has debunked the rumours on social media this evening.
Honestly, this isn't a surprise, especially as we've already heard how difficult it is to plan crossovers like these in advance due to the very different approaches to making a TV series and movie (plus, the division between the movie and TV divisions at Marvel mean that Kevin Feige and company don't seem overly interested in any sort of crossovers anyway). Here's what the actor had to say on the matter:
The Kingpin started off as a Spider-Man villain before becoming better known as a foe of the Man Without Fear, so him appearing in some capacity in Homecoming could have worked. However, it does make more sense for the focus to remain on his relationship with Matt Murdock (especially after the events of season two). Are you disappointed that he won't be showing up on the big screen next year?
