BOX OFFICE: David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD Blasts Past $500 Million Globally
The movie may have suffered a significant drop this week, but Suicide Squad has still done enough to sail past $500 million at the worldwide box office. How much longer can it keep this up for, however?...
It may be an unlucky number for some, but on its thirteenth day of release, David Ayer's Suicide Squad sits at around $509M globally, having amassed $271M overseas and over $238M at the North American box office. Warner Bros.' supervillain team-up flick will open in Germany this Friday, and despite a fairly substantial drop since its record-breaking opening weekend, is still expected to to hang onto the top spot on the international charts.
“It is incredibly rewarding to see audiences around the world coming out in such a big way for Suicide Squad," said WB President of Worldwide Distribution Veronika Kwan Vandenberg. "We have several major markets yet to open, and expect to continue seeing strong returns at the box office for the weeks to come.”
Be that as it may, with China out of the mix, the movie might still struggle to make it past the $600 - $650M mark.
