The Joker has always been my favorite character
He is….
* A Genius
* Totally Unpredictable
* A Psychopath
* A Sociopath
* An Anarchist
* A Criminal Mastermind
* Scary
* Flexible
* Extreme
* The opposite of Batman
But most of all, the Joker is free. He embodies freedom, he doesn’t care what anybody thinks about him but at the same time, he understands people. He is completely insane but he makes sense. He is the smartest person in the room but he looks like a clown.
When I first saw the picture of Ayer’s The Joker, a part of me thought it was a joke. I was literally in denial. The Joker would not have tattoos, especially a tattoo of “Damaged” on his forehead. He’s the Joker! Then, I realized that I was taking it too far. Leto is an amazingly talented actor and he definitely has the chops to play a convincing Joker. Then, I felt a sigh of relief, because there was chance that the tattoos were only there for the 75th anniversary of The Joker.
Fast forward to yesterday, and the recently released set photos proved that the tattoos are real. This leads me to my current mind set. The Joker has tattoos, who cares.
Honestly, Leto is amazing, and you can tell by the set photos and videos that he has Joker’s mannerisms down. You can tell he is going to go all out with his performance.
Most of all, you can tell that Leto and Ayer’s Joker can still be all of the following
* A Genius
* Totally Unpredictable
* A Psychopath
* A Sociopath
* An Anarchist
* A Criminal Mastermind
* Scary
* Flexible
* Extreme
* The opposite of Batman
And, most of all FREE.
I am behind this project, and I can’t wait to see Leto play my favorite comic book character.
The Joker
