Stephen Colbert Pokes Fun At SUICIDE SQUAD, a.k.a. "Mopey AVENGERS Go To Hot Topic"
During a monologue on last night's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host found a unique way of poking fun at Suicide Squad, and it's sure to make Marvel fans laugh...
During last night's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host weighed in on the recent news that a new $5.5 billion Disneyland has been built in China. He did so by poking fun at the fact that the names of some Disney characters don't translate well to Chinese, and then offered up some alternate translations for various American properties...including DC Comics adaptation Suicide Squad.
As you can see in th video below (around the 4:30) mark, Colbert chooses to describe the David Ayer helmed release as, "Mopey Avengers go to Hot Topic." Is that an accurate assessment? A line of clothes based on the movies have started hitting that store's shelves, and the members of Task Force X aren't exactly the most cheerful bunch. It's all in good fun though, don't you agree? Sound off below.
It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
Starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Viola Davis, and Ben Affleck, Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 5th, 2016. Are you looking forward to the movie? As always, be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.
